Good fishing Randy! Enjoy the dinners.

Just kept 4.... I went alone .... Nipfisher was already back in Da-Bay.

  4. at about 14H45 I decided to head out on the Sturgeon River ..3 minutes away and be back for supper ... I gassed up the boat and launched , and was on my spot at 15h05.....by 15h35 ..(66* surface temp 20FOW) I had caught 9 Walleye about the same size 36cm.. and a few Smallies followed and a then few Rock Bass .. then 2 more Walleye........

I kept fishing 'til I ran out of worms.

I pulled into the driveway at 17h05..I brought 4 of these home with me.

  5. It's nice here ...(20 minutes away from Da Bay)... I go there about 4 times / week.... 3 Beers Stores to serve you better, a very nice waterfront, 20 minutes away in any direction from great fishing & hunting, friendly folk, brand new state of the art (built too small already) Health Centre, hiking trails, native smokes, Chief Commanda II ,a good night life, summer concerts and attractions, airport...

+ a small town feel.... snow snow .. snow.. and apartments are hard to find.

you might wanna consider the commute from , Powassan, Sturgeon, Astorville, Callander.........(20-30 minutes)

  6. My bud Terry brought me one from Sudbury 24 Oz XL

    309395_10150418269233696_512448695_10674872_5240767_n.jpg

    I have 2 XL 3x3 every morning (from previous coffee topics hasn't changed), my wife has a M/ Mocha ... 6$... add a after supper run to that and ya got 10$/ day... that's 300$/Mo .... X 12 + ? ... now who's good at math? ... see what I mean?

For me, a 24 Oz will replace 2x regular XL's for a Toonie.. that translates to about say... 700-800$/yr toward my spring shopping spree..........

I'm all for this Idea ...It did the trick for me.. :good:

But........... I'm still angry at myself/spouse for allowing ourselves to spend this much on COFFEE...per year ... really.

This cuts into my ,Beer / Smokes / Miscellaneous budget.

Does anyone else have this problem?

  7. Just put a Prime Rib in the oven at 200 degrees for 4 hour approx. When the thermometer says 140 it's time to eat. Having roasted sweet potatoes, onions, parsnips and rutabaga done in a lemon cumin brown sugar sauce with it. One of my favs. We have been waiting awhile for a cooler day to have the oven going.

BTW how hot do you have the BBQ going when you do this? And I'm assuming your doing indirect heat. Looks good :thumbsup_anim: Enjoy your supper

    Indirect heat @ 300*F

I usually do 6lb'ers but this is the biggest I've done yet.

  8. My wife picked up this Sirloin roast for 30$ usually 90$....

it's an 11 pounder ..... we gave it our special RUB last night and set it on the counter to absorb... threw it in the fridge overnight and back out this morning at 10:00 to get to room temperature.

    MMMMMM....getting ready to sear. :thumbsup_anim:

    Picture022.jpg

  9. My "parts man" sleeves got rolled up for this one..and the books came out.

    Champion ... # QL6VC or the rare 886-1**...new # is superceeded to a 886M

NGK/ A/C ... don't make one, performance brands like Zexy or E3 either

Amongst my numerous paper catalogs cannot find a listing for a 1991 Mercury/Mariner 25Hp 2 Stroke in my NGK & A/C ,Bosch /listings...

they seem to be exclusive to Mr. Alexandre Champion.

but the cross references tell me that there are many-o secondaries with a conventional design...

    like A/C R43FS or NGK BP6HS-10 (4838)..Bosch W6Bc ..might work.

Ensure proper clearance before even cranking the engine over.

But ... if they work well now, why change them?..

    Good Luck Man!!!

  10. I burn Regular U/L in mine all the time and it's not a dual fuel.. it's about 40 years old... just gets my pots "smokey" with a suit on them..

Regular U'L is less volatile than Naptha ( white gas)

I've had the "orange" flame and spitting a few times but.. nothing a pipe cleaner didn't fix.

  11. Pulling out a backlash isn't rocket science, and the thumb trick sort of works, but it might help you to understand that at the point where the line is binding there will be an upside down V of line holding the running line down.

To release the tangle, don't use brute force, this might make it worse.

Pull the running line until it stops...Find the V that is holding the running line and pull the V up and to the side...The spool will turn backwards, then stop...Pull on the running line again and simple backlashes will be undone.

For more complicated tangles repeat the process. Pull the running line until it stops...Find the V...ETC.

    Yep! :thumbsup_anim:

  12. My friend found out what it was....

Apparently a common Garter Snake? WHAT? Really....

a Biologist at Science North called to tell her that it was a snake`..

actually multiple snakes... they counted 12 of them with 1 1/2 heads

something to do with the egg sacks ... kinda like siamese twins, it was destined for death and was about 2 months old....a freak of nature.

    She'll get more news tomorrow....

  13. A friend, co-worker of mine is camped on Pike Lake north of Sturgeon Falls on HWY64 N....They heard a small splashing sound in the lake nearby her and her Mom walked to the dock and picked this up with the net...

It died in a bucket and was shipped to Science North.. why there? I don't know but....that's where they took it.... They showed it off to cottagers and none of them knows what it is.... honestly neither do I :dunno: .

She described it to be about as big as a 600ml Pepsi Bottle or a Tall Boy Beer Can...maybe a little bigger, She said it has no legs but tentacles like a squid..eyes and mouth like a Catfish and about as hard as a Tadpole... apparently had what looked to be a translucent skin and weird colors....along with a lot of slime...she swears up and down that it's not a joke.. and she's a rather serious person.

She should get information back from Science North sometime next week..

Have a look see ... whaddaya think it is?
