  5. Well........... I can't read what the sign says(fine print).

with that said .... Now..... I'm not siding in any direction...

But........ is this a MNR sign? Is it enforced by the Province or the Municipality?( because of safety reasons)... If it's from a Municipality it doesn't matter the Provincial laws overrule... (I've been through this)..

I don't condone this behavior ... but what does the "BOOK" say? Is it really a sanctuary?

Not pokin' at the Beesnest but wondering ? :dunno:

  6. ie: Javex Bottles ... Jugs...

I was recently( this past summer) told by a Lodge owner that if you place them (Jugs) there you could be held responsible in court if someone hit a rock...

Apparently, this is why there are no Jugs on Tomiko (almost).

But as for the hand signs you did good Mercman :good:

I gave up..I've just stopped waving them down now... :whistling:

I went from the "Emergency Wave" to the SLOW sign while pointing at the hazard... then the "Pac Man" while screaming "YOU'RE GONNA WRECK YOUR BOAT!" .. I swear, my wife would attest to this I sometimes looked like I was having a seizure trying to warn the oncoming boater of the potential danger.. :excl:

...some got the hint some didn't...

And those that didn't , have the nerve to ask you, why You didn't signal them that there was a rock/log, whatever there? :dunno:

And those that didn't get the hint, but miraculously breeze through without even dinging their prop... usually are the ones that wave back or give you the Finger.. :wallbash:( Terry was that you?)

 I figured out that I was just wasting precious jiggin' time..

But... Believe me, If I see someone acting like I used to ...

I'll react.. and have reacted.

Most of these incidents are the fault of someone who is in a rush to get to ...they don't know where.

Probably like most of you, I take my time in unfamiliar waters,

    especially Rivers.

A wreck is so easily avoided..

That's why we have the "Boater's card" right?

  7. Funny......

I decided to re-try Shimano after having terrible experiences with the TX and AX series... so I bought a Shimano Fj ,it lasted 1 season .. blew apart in my hands(bail mechanism)........ 50 or so Walleye and some Bass....

I recently broke my Father In-Law's brand new Okuma on the first

"let out" for lakers... pressed rubber grip stayed in my hand.

Quantum (Spinning).. well the cheap ones blow apart after 10 years ... for me anyway...

2x Crappy Tire 59.99$.. Hypercast II ( Spinning )lasted me ten years probably reeled in ? 6500 fish?

I, just this season replaced them with BPS models 59.99$/ea( they felt good in my hands) and apparently made by Zebco....they have about 30 walleye on each so far in the past month and still running strong.

as for Baitcaster I have nothing bad to say about Shimano .. I had one and it ran fine for 6 years until it was lost in the drink.I now own Abu & Quantum and they've been runnin' fine for the past 8 years..

To each their own I guess..kinda like, a Ford / Chevy thing...

    I drive Fords. B)

  8. Once again a Friend and I went out for a quick.. catch & keep limit

I picked up Shawn at 18h00 the boat was in the water by 18H15 :Gonefishing: and then being backed into the yard @ 19H20...

It was an action packed 45 minutes..boating 15 Walleye 5 of them in the slot and 2 around 10" along with a few Rock Bass. :good:

My line was surgically cut by something with shoulders 2x. :wallbash:

...My daughter took the pictures since I had slimy hands... :thumbsup_anim:

    Picture031.jpg

    Picture032.jpg

She also took the video ..

Now I've been cleaning my Walleye this way for over 20 years ... I find them easier to Rib and Skin with the "Grip & Rip" technique..

Anybody else do 'em like this?

p.s you might hear my drunken neighbor being himself by the end of the video. " I did not pay him to say that"
