  1. Good luck up there, we have two weeks to go. Make sure you let me know how you did.
  2. lol, didn't think that one through.
  3. Thanks Whopper, we will do so, and again, I am not real worried about it, we do have a few (2-4 during the day) and just don't want the hassle if they are coming in more frequently. Sounds like we will be ok, just keep the cans out of the boat when done with them. And no, I won't throw them in the lake lol. Take care all.
  4. Thanks TJ, those are the types of answers I was looking for. I have been going on fly-ins for 20 years up in Ontario, and never had one come in. That is why when I saw a thread on another site about it happening pretty frequently I thought I would come over here and see what the board members are seeing or hearing. Any other comments along these lines would be appreciated. It just doesn't seem right to go in and ruin someones vacation when they are the only people on the lake, and having a few beers while fishing all day.
  5. So are you talking a one cabin only outpost fly in camp? I agree out on the water with other boaters around is a real bad thing, and I am not talking about be drunk off my ass. But at a true outpost camp, with only your group on it, you really look at having a couple of beers in the boat during your day as a horrible offense? Again, not what I was looking for in info, just curious if guys have had them drop in and check out your boats, camps, and such looking for a ticket reason. This is what the thread on another board was about, and there were a lot of mixed messages on it. Take care all, any responses on having them swoop in on your private camp for the week would be appreciated.
  6. You can tell if you have or haven't been checked, its ok! Just looking for some feedback.
  7. Anyone ever been stopped at a only cabin on a lake type fly in trip for alcohol, or general check? Just curious, we have been going up for 20 years, and never had a problem. Reading on another board a thread about how they are checking outposts much more frequently, and if they land, they will do their damnedest to find something to ticket. Just curious, don't want lectures, or pissing matches, just curious if anyone has seen this happening more. We usually have a handful of beers out while fishing all day, but it sounds like you better not have an empty can or open beer or you will have big troubles. Just curious.
  8. The Blue Water Bridge between Sarnia and Port Huron, sorry to not inclued. Also, yes, I wish I would have had the camera, it was a beauty thats for sure. Never seen that in all the years I have been up there fishing for Walleye. You are talking 35-40 feet of water, with probably a medium action poll, 10-15 lbs test, and the drift rig on mono, pretty amazing story for that guy for sure.
  9. Crazy thing I saw last night drifting for walleye. Dude behind us hooks into what appears a snag. 15 minutes later, he lands a 50" muskey, on a drift rig! Craziest thing I have ever seen out there. Thing was thick too, really nice wall hanger.
  10. Would you mind sharing the lake info with us, you can PM if you prefer. I just bought a 16 ft boat for the kids and me to go up there. I have been fishing out of Chapleau area for years, and took my sons up last year for first time, and they loved it. I am looking for good lakes for pike and walleye around the areas from Saulte st. marie to Chapleau. Any help would be great, and if they have camping sites available would be great to know. Just getting expensive going up and renting everything up there with two extra to pay for! Thanks in advance. Anyone else have any suggestions, i would much appreciate. I know there are lakes everywhere up that way, but ones that you can get a 16 foot boat in and catch more than a few fish, the ones you show here are awesome!
  11. Thanks for the reply, we are fishing their Northwind lake in August, I will give you an update when we get back! Who did you fly with for $200 less? Just asking, because we have flown with a guy out of Wawa for years, used to be based in Chapleau. Their site is www.outpostcamps.com. Good people, love their Ribes lake, and Anjigaming is good too, and their prices are great, $695 for the week. If anyone knows anymore about midnorth/kanipahow it would be appreciated. Hope we made a good choice for the change of scenerie.
  12. Nothing???? Please reply if you know of the outfit, thanks.
  13. Anyone ever fish with this outfit, Lloyd Cotton is the owners name and he flies out of Chapleau area. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!
  14. Can anyone give me some info on cottage and boat rental places for lake simcoe. Looking at taking by two sons over a few times this summer. Any info would be great.
  15. Thanks Dara, we will have to give it a shot. Does time of day matter much for them? You have quite a variety of lakes to fish up there, you are a very lucky man!
  16. Do you use these swedish pimples in summer time for whitefish? How do you fish them? Any help would be appreciated. Depths, techniques, we will be up in Chapleau area in August, and one of the lakes has whitefish, and it would be fun to give it a try. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Leechman, Couple of questions, is that your ice fishing set up for Whitefish or does it work in summer also? We are heading up in August. What are the Jigs you are using, I have never seen those before? How deep of water in the summer? Thanks and look forward to your answers.
  18. Seeing the Whitefish thread got me thinking. We are heading up on a fly in trip in August, and one of the lakes has Whitefish. What are some methods to land a couple of these guys, are they deep, shallow water fish, jig, do you troll, what types of lures? Couple of pointers would be much appreciated.
  19. How were the Black Flies up there? Great report!
