Thanks guys ..yes fresh perch tonight for dinner ..just weighed the filets 8.9lbs for 50 fish ...

Headed up to Pefferlaw yesterday to Steve's Fish Huts for some perch hit the ice around 7:30 and it was non stop action all day Had my limit by Noonish all around 8 to 11"..i also released some in the 12 to 13" range must have caught over 300 for the day i did't even have time for a Brown Pop . ;)after fishing for the day headed to the Minnow Farm to load up on some Simcoe Minnows what a set up this guys has never seen so many minnows in a building ...if anybody is looking for a nice warm comfy hut for the family or friends with lots of action call Steve's Fish Huts Pefferlaw Lake Simcoe (705)426-7800

Hope ya can make it Smokey ..what about you nuatyfish you coming out for a day of fun ice fishing .. As for eating i release 99% of my walleye from the grand for others to catch ..

A few shots from the Grand River..ice is still a good 4"to 5" and a few good reports of limits of walleye today ..can't wait to get down river today ..hopefully i will have some better pictures tonight ..

I am going to get ahold of Thirsty Mate Marina down by Vic Powells in the lower Grand River Dunnville to plan this outing .i will keep everyone posted ..just wana see how many would be intrested 1st ..and by the looks of it from other sites it will be a good show up ..

Yes YO has done very well in the past in my Tourneys ..i think Clampet needs to get away from the computer and go fishing ..im trying to get something going for all us to have fun and maybe help some sick kids ..don't really need his type of post on this type of topic ..

Wanted to see how many people here would be interested in a Get Together out here on the Grand River for some Ice Fishing ...maybe get everyone to chuck in 5 or 10 bucks for the biggest fish caught of the day ..maybe drag out a few bbq's have some snacks and some good laughs ..Say Feb 10th or 11th or do something for Charity for Sick Kids Hospital ..

Clampet: where have you fished the Grand i have never really went out walleye fishing on the river and not got walleye.. we stock between 10000 and 30000 Walleye a year ..so you may wana try something diffrent ..im sure other guys on this site have done very well also ..

Well just got back from ice fishing at the dam ....landed 6 nice walleye in 2 hrs had 3 to 4" of nice black ice but you still need to be carefull where you walk make sure you have a spud and a floater suite if ya dont no the river ..all fish came off Buck Shots and Bad Boys one off a Rapala Jig ..will post pictures when i get a chance ..Fishmaster

The north can never supply our demand for bait ...just spoke to a guy heading to Nip and the guy told him Large shinners are $12 a doz right now and he dont think he will have minnows for very long due to the guy he buys from in the south can't supply him anymore ..

Very true irishfield ...i do let all my customers no whats going on in the bait world and that you shouldn't use minnows out of the effected area ..but bait has been transport from Lake Erie to dealers up north for the last 100 years ...you would think if one lake has a problem they would all have it ..me for one i just want to be able to catch and sell bait to local guys and keep my minnows inside the enfected zone ..i have seen more bait this year then every. you would think if they have VHS they would want use to atleast get them outa the water ways so more fish won't eat them ..not once has the MNR ever tested our minnows to see if the have VHS ..

I agree totaly but as of right now anybody can catch there own bait and take it anywhere you like ..not good at all but call Mr . Cooper of the MNR and he will say the same thing there is nothing stopping anglers for moven the VHS to other inland lakes ..makes no sence to me ..as for travleing all the way north to find out no shops have bait it could really ruin a trip without your Fav Bait ..
