They are more purpleish then red ..and big blue gills have lots of back meat ..and very tastey alote like perch if not better ..

Headed out for Some Crappies after work tonight and found some nice slabs and a few blue gills to go with them . was a nice calm no wind eve and the sun was shineing and the fish were hungry .managed about 17 crappies and a doz blue gills . all on bobber and minnow a ft under the suffrace ..got home got the knife out and the beer batter ..yummy ...

50 perch 1 1/2 hrs scaled bonesless butterflys ...i use a elec scaler and elec knife ...

FD the derby is far from over it runs till the end of june ....those are just a couple cats that were weighed in this weekend and the leaders now ..

I find riggers spoke alote of fish on certain days ....and most boats you only have 2 riggers and useing dipsy will add more rods to your spread ...im a dipsy nut nothing like watching a King or a Walleye smoke a dipsy ..

Well what a week to get the boat back in the water ...beauty weather slow fishing but its great to be back on Lake Ontario once again been fishing from the Niagara River to Jordan looking for the Kings water need to warm up another couple Deg's and we should be all set for King Action did manage a few Kings Laker's Brown & Cohos this week and weekend all fish have been on Renoskis Reef Runners & Smithwicks fishing from 9 to 45 fow . out of 3 days only had 1 fish off the riggers the rest have been all on planner boards ....cancled todays charter due to slow fishing but lets just hope next week will be better ...more reports and pictures coming soon ..Fishmaster

Spring 1.5 to 2.2 Summer 2.5 to 3.0 Fall 1.8 to 2.8 and that all depends on what baits your useing ..

I will have a full report after the weekend ...My guys for my charter on saturday are hopen to win the derby in Dunnville this weekend so hopefully we will have lots of action shots for ya..

That fish has had the life sucked outa it by a Lampray ....that is not VHS ...no bulged eye's no red around the gills ...ive done my share of collecting info on VHS ....we have been shocking fish in the grand river for over a week now no sighs of VHS ...was at a meeting last night for the Daffsco Anglers Club and John Copper from the MNR was there and all the live fish they have tested came back NIL of VHS ..not saying its not out there but is very slim ..like i said a Lampry has got the best of that nice trout ..not sure if you Trout guys no that if they ever ban bait because of VHS say good bye to your Roe ...
