  1. Wow it sounds like I struck a nerve.. Now here is somthing I thought about yesterday as I was trying to get a licence for a friend that had come up for opener. We went to a local bait store and the guy said he could not ger the new system. So what bothers me no is how much more abuse can the little bait shops take. You go in get your licence some bait, and mabey some tackle. But if you have to go to canadian tire (which is my favorite store) you just pick uo your tackle there and all you get at the bait store is bait. Man cannot live on minnows alone. I guess what I am saying is SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BAIT STORE the community where I came from the local bait store closed after being there for 30 plus years. From that point on the next closest reliable store was an hour away. What ever money that was saves by buying tackle at ct went out the window in gas and frustration..... So i went to ct to buy minnows, well you all know how that went!!!!
  2. ya that is quite a hike..... but how else are they going to pay for the new system ufb
  3. There is some things in life you can't afford then there are others you can't afford not too!!!!

  4. they may have sold youa card too, idid not even look at my reciep, it took me a half hour and I had my arctic armor bottoms on I was boiling but I am pretty sure the 1 yr lcn was 37 dollars. The system would not renew her card , said it expired, but the card says 2012 on it soo I just walked out. Double check you did not double pay for a card, but I would just be happy to know I've got the licence it not worth the hassle of getting a refund.
  5. Just got my licence for next year it is a peice of plastic like thin..... what happened to the stickers do our cards need to be carried or do both cards need to be carried.. Is it just a canadian tire thing or does the tackle shops offer the stickers. anyone ???????????
  6. yea I deffenatly agree better size out of erie, and good numbers but it is quite a bit of hit and miss there. The think I like about erie williams bay is you can catch multiple species not uncommon to catch nice pike and bass you can have a multi species day. the biggest perch I havr caught is out of erie. But simcoe is redicoulas if you go out of gilford just walk straight out kinda towards keswick, go to the middle is 20 plus feet to start go deeper if ther not there. drop a 3 hook polimer knot rig with a bell weight 3/8 ounce gets you to the bottom quick enough. You can only fish one rod because by the time it hits botton you can't count to 3. There is usualy a pressure crack out there, in the center fish either side of it. give yourself 15 min if there is nothing move deeper, it starts slow but after 15 minute if your not one after another move. the most I have ever moved is three times to find the fish. lot of dinks but you can catch a feed of 9 plus inchers. usually you only need to drill 1 hole. good luck
  7. funny I just moved out of the london area, if you are looking for crappie and don't mind drivind half hour to 45 min, head towards exeter, morrison dam is hit and miss but it has given me a good amount of crappie and pike. shiners just off bottom play around the shoreline closest to the parking lot to start, in about 12 ft of water, when iced in front of the dame the icew is iffy depending on the year stay clear of that area until you see a local guy. There may be no one there but the far side there is a little point that sticks out about 20 feet off shore there is a not to bad spot in about 5 ft of water. Early morn is good but the evening bite is the best. You can catch fish all day but the other times is best for crappie. 37 keepers in 1 hour 20 is my best evening 2 guys. Park hill resovoir has a huge population of crappie, never fished it because the population is so high that the fish are small. So I have been told. Buddies catch a ton of them in the summer, I'd rather drive to simcoe and have high perch numbers like in the hundreds, with around 30 keepers (over 9 inches) per guy. Its worth it and redicoulas early season.
  8. correct me if I'm wrong however, driving in a boat boozed is just the same as driving in a car as far as licenceing is concerned. My buddy just spent ten grand getting of an impared. It's really not worth the buzz to get caught by the fuzz. Saying that I allow a couple beers on the boat all the time to my passangers. I'll even provide one or two and have been stopped by the police many times. The key is to not be showing the police any reason to charge you. The police for the most part have been reasonable, and obviously don't leave it lying aroud don't get pissed. treat it like you were 15, sneaking a beer from the old boy. He always knew but it was how we acted that prompted his reaction. good luck and great fishing
  9. upon further review of the regulations, I ment to say pike instead of walleye, none the less it certanly does clear up the issue on the one lake but the two other lakes were for splake and still no one. thanks for the clarification on the regs, I fear bad karma this season now. Those were the tastiest pike I have ever had.....ops
  10. yea I thougt that however the tackle shops in tis area say only browns closed for this region.... but I think I should double check three places said the same thing as I bought minnows. fishy
  11. It just seems weird, I just recently moved from southern ontario, into the sudbury district. I have been fishing since the middle of december, and catching fish, not lots but a few everytime. I limited out walleye small but still a limit. I have yet to see another person fishing any of the lakes that I am on. I am used to fishing simcoe and erie, awsome fisheries, however packed with people. Am I missing somthing, are there better lakes in the region that I don't know about, or does not too many people fish in the area. If your from around sudbury, could you let me know.
