  1. The pirate ship dock that Smithville-fisher posted a picture of on Baptiste is really beautiful. It's also a good smallie spot!
  2. I've always rigged my jigs with the tail up! Never though of putting the tail down. Will have to try it that way when the water gets soft again! Mike
  3. I've got a Garmin StreetPilot and am very happy with it. It has US & Canada maps on it, and I was surprised at some of the remote backroads that were on it around the lakes I fish up there.
  4. Hey Keram , I just spent a week on Baptiste. It was just after the last cold front came through 2 weeks ago. We did OK, but had to work hard to get them. I just posted some pics on my website Click here...Baptise Lake 2007 We stayed at Sunrise Lodge aton the NE side of the lake, but where you are is really centrally located on the lake. Smallies & walleye were deep on jigs, largemouth& pike were in the weeds.
  5. This one caught me by surprise. I found at at one of the sportman shows that this year it is the 4th Sat in june...June 23rd., not June 30th. It was added to the ontario fisheries website in December. Lots of lodge operators were not aware of this till one pointed it out to me and I checked out the website and then called the ministry to be sure before I booked my trip.
  6. Thats the first time I've seen someone's homemade video. Excellent!!! Thanks for taking the time to share!!
  7. ..and through a 6 inch hole!! Yikes. Nice fish!
  8. Hey Guys, What a website!! Thanks for the info!!! Going to check out the websites for babtiste & elephant lake lodge now. Nice fish sinker! If I catch your musky I'll be sure to let her go for you! Mike
  9. Glad you caught some fish but the hut going in sure ruined someone's day! Best thing is everyone was allright.
  10. Early summer I'm hoping to fish Baptiste Lake & Elephant Lake just south of Algonquin Park. Are we selecting a pretty good area for some catch & release bassing? Any recommendations on a place to stay there? Any help would be appreciated. I'm not familiar with this part of Ontario and at one of the sportsman shows it was recommended to me. Thanks, Mike
  11. I must be really old fashioned...I still like to see Laurel & Hardys 'March of the Wooden Soldiers' and 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'.
