going to whitman lake on sunday, anyone ever been? we're fishing for specks (brookies). i would like some suggestions on an assortment of tackle. for example: cleos, mepps, plain worm and hook?

more than just "what", it may be a case of "where"...

in summer brookies can be real tough, and will sometimes go as deep as 25 fow to seek refuge.

slow trolling a heavier spoon or even small walleye crankbaits like wally divers (in natural colours) might help.

never been to whitman myself! good luck.
