  1. Hey all figured since we are often in the same areas as eachother fishing especially on the Ice it'd be a neat way to meet each other, unexpectedly. So for those interested post a pic of your Hut or your Quad/sled or vehicle if you bring it on the ice on here so we can identify each other on the Ice.

Here's mine It has an OFC Sticker on the front door so ya know for sure its me, If ya see it come on by and say hi...

  2. Another Girl in your family to kick you but eh Cliff... Better hope she doesn't get into fishing if you want to have any dignity left ;) Ya put any fish under the ice so it could double your fun lol ... Great Job with the rink though Cliff looks like ya have and Carole have one heck of a kid.

  3. Sure thing skeeter... i am thinking I will make a thread for everyone to post a pic of their hut so if we see eachother we can Identify OFNers...

Glen... The pics were emailed from another computer and were made into like 15kb's instead of the normal MB's they take up... I do use photobucket.

Shawn... Different spot altogether where we caught fish. Started Shallow and had good action then moved when it slowed and kept moving till we got on em et the end of the day. I have the GPS waypoints so we can go there next week if all goes well.

I'll phone ya next time Gerritt... guess I should have been thinking better eh?

  4. Thanks to the both of you... Ohh and if I had more successful days on the water I would be making more reports lol... looks like this Ice will stick so I hope to have a few more days like today and some with a few real Jumbo's

  5. Hey all Just going to make a short report here, its been quite a while since i have posted one and even longer since a successful one lol. So here goes... Day started around 8 when we arrived in Gilford.... lines in the water ready to go at 9 and sure enough first drop in the water and fish on... a decent 12" perch would start out the day nicely. Although we were nice and comfortable in the hut outside there were some good gusts of wind and some whiteout conditions (brought the GPS just in case) This was our initial greeting

After the first hour my Brother hooks into what he figures is a small perch until his reel starts screaming. He didnt know what it was, ended up being a little pike

The weather liked switching back and forth... it was continuously windy and cold though but snow and clouds came and went

Moved around after the bite stopped and it helped... we got to a spot with nonstop action at the end of the day and we couldnt keep our lines in the water... Mostly fish in the 7-10" range but a bunch of 5-6" dinks and a few over 10

Overall an enjoyable day on the water and I am glad to see the water is now hard. As for ice conditions. Well operators were putting there huts out in the afternoon with argos and quads so it seems to be "safe" we found from 4" to 7" on the Gilford side but we sure didn't cover the whole bay so its not to say it is all accessible or safe. Hope ya enjoyed the report.

  6. Well I used your link Terry and sent em an E-mail and would think any of us who ice fish whether or not with a portable should do the same... If ya let the Gov't or Ministry push too much the will keep going, and eventually affect you whether or not you see it now... soon it will be special licenses for vehicles including cars, and Ice fishing licenses. Lets all speak up OFC has a voice lets show the Ministry.

    Heres my message:

Hello there, and good day to you. I am writing about registering fish huts in zones 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17,

18, 19 and 20. The new registration rules seem to be somewhat ignorant as even portable collapsible huts must be registered. I enjoy frequenting many lakes and want to understand how it is reasonable to ask those of us who have portables, not much over regulation size (being 21.5 sq. feet), are supposed to go about fishing the many lakes we are fortunate enough to have in Ontario without making our huts covered in 2.5" lettering specifically on cloth, where stickers or paint are not an option and the numbering would cost near or over $100 per license number. Hopefully this was some sort of oversight, which is clearly in need of re-evaluation. I appreciate any response.

  7. Thanks Gerr... We'll hook up for sure... I appreciate most all of your comments lessons have obviously been learned. Nater, If it makes any difference which I am sure it wont, Please avoid posting whatsoever on any of my threads, I have yet to hear a constuctive comment from you, I will give the same courtesy

  8. Might be the dumbest statement I have seen here in a while.Thats the logic that the thieves use to justify their stealing. In the NAVY they have no use for a thief and violenece against thieves works very well.No one steals on a ship and if they do they have a blanket party for the guy.Very effective.

Bill, dont dwell on the scum that did it,they will make you their prisoner.Go on about your life just as you were and have faith in your fellow man as most of them will do the right thing and not steal your stuff.Cept for the ones who think its half your fault, they will steal whenever they get a chance.Nothing but bad will come from ill gotten gains.

    Joe

Thanks Joe... I agree 100% with your statement...
