Okay Brian! There is another local event the same weekend in memoriam to another friend that passed away. I've been donating my old gear to them the past 2 years when I could. It's a great event, and much like my event, supports the young anglers.

My injury is a big factor, but also my team of volunteers are just busy doing other awesome things (EMTs etc)

Hey manitou, If you come to my house - free lodging, free grub & a couple of guided trips are not a problem. Just wifey & myself at home now, so 2 vacant bedrooms! Oh, I have 2 beer fridges!! Just in case you get thirsty after a day of hauling in 7,8 lb walleyes! Perching is rather boring cuz they're only 13, & 14"! LOL! I just like to rub it in a bit. Keep your rod tip up! Sadly the smallies range from 4 - 6 lbs. My PB smallie is only 5.5 lbs!

Funny you mention he tennis elbow, I got my tennis elbow from trolling in fast water on the Ottawa. The Dr. wouldn't write out a script for a rod holder. It flairs up if I swing a hammer, so I put my hammer away and drive screws instead.

I was remiss in not answering you. So you were one of those nuts braving the ice flows. Today actually looks and feels like winter here on Erie. About 150 yards of the same stuff in your pics here today. Must have been cold last night, nothing on the shoreline yesterday except for the pair of Eagles hunting. So wonderful to see considering when I grew up in Hamilton we had 2 species of birds, brown ones and black ones. I remember asking a buddy who is an outdoorsman once while golfing. " Mario, what is the name of that bird? The black one with the red wings". I really did so help me.

It's incredibly useful.

But I bought this phone for it's durability and waterproofing.

I wouldn't expect thermal imaging on your everyday phone in the future. This is marketed towards industrial workers.

And yes, the phone works great!

Battery life is incredible. Well over 24 hours while using. If using solely as a phone, I bet it would last 3-4 days

Processor is not the best on the market, but it's incredibly fast. Videos play very nicely

It has a SOS button, which apperently works outside of cell phone service areas.

The speakers are loud, but it's not as smooth sounding as my Galaxy s5

Picture quality is great. But it takes weird pictures if you have a TV in the background. You get a "halo" type effect.
