  1. I can import to photobucket no prob.

It crashes when im trying to post and its slow as heck compared to before.

Might just be my phone too as it crashed when I was out fishing today. My phone just turned off and I couldnt use it at all. Then it miraculously started working the minute I got home and plugged it in(while at 46% batter life???)

  2. Tough conditions today! Water temps 59, 22km/h winds gusting to 36, from the south(or right into my face?)

  5. Great post and photos MB2!

Fishing reports are too rare on this fishing board. Thanks for this!

Had an aunt that lived in Stratton way back. Was real young when we did 24 hr. drive up there.

The river was slow and milky there. It scared me as child i thought a sturgeon would pull me in the water.

Thanks man! Just uploading some more pics from the second trip.

Stratton is right by us, farm town lol.

The river there is nuch dirtier than in manitou, its gotta lot of farm run off. Did ya ever watch the sturgeon jumpin at night as the sun goes down? Its amazing! Thousands of them!!!

  6. Ck, ill have to ask my pops, hes in charge but i will let ya know! Thanks again btw!

OI, yep shes a beaut! My favorite place to fish or just chill out!

Pt 2 was pretty chill. I brought my brother in law, my youngest girl and oldest boy with.

We ended up heading out earlier than I wanted wife the wife having plans so...

A few pike, couple bite offs. Lost one really nice fish at shore right at the end of the day, grrrrr.

Was a beaut if an evening thought! Lotsa laughs, great scenery and just a relaxing good time?

  7. Well I planned a shore fish today, figured id look for pike. Couldnt sleep a wink last night just knowing the conditions were gonna be nice.

Anyhow, head down around 9am. Its already 16 and sunny, no wind. Water sure dropped though.

Few cast in started getting some dinks. Good fun though.

All the sudden MNR and Ontario gov shows up. We chat. Turns out the water drop shut off the sturgeon spawn. So I helped them out for 45 mins or so doing some rudimentary measuring etc. In turn thwy showed my some cool equipment to look at the eggs on bottom.

After we finished they stuck around and asked me to look for some bass. So I did. Caught a bunch of lil guys 12-14", again, good fun. After a chat, off they went.

So I move from the rapids to a sandbar. Nice clear water. Lotsa follows on the white spinnerbait, big fish!.

Landed 2 around 32" but man I had tons of follows right up to shore, including a few over 40". Fun to watch but bummer they wouldnt bite. I tried alot of baits/lures with the same results.

So I just took a few naturd pics and chilled out. Beautiful day out!

Im heading back out around 6 and see if we can get some big bites with the kiddos.

Gotta try now because they are gonna open the gates and rais the water at least 97cm to try to get the sturgeon spawn going again.

A few pics. And hopefully more to come later?

All the bass were around this size

Ill follow up pt. 2 tonight, hopefully with a few 30" + pike!

  8. I don't have the background to argue yea or nay on the issue. Even scientists disagree. You know they can skew data to support their hypothesis. All I know is what I have seen.We created a micro climate at the plant years back. You didn't know if it was day or night, if the sky was clear or overcast. The city would be covered in smog, same looking across the lake at times at Toronto. Now multiply that by the thousands of manufacturing and highly populated urban cities across the globe. Is it enough to change the global environment? I believe it is. Could we see the polar ice caps years ago from outer space, nope. But we can now but there is not much to compare it to in the last 10,000 years.

    I believe what I experience.

Yeah, but what you experiencing could be minute, or it could be huge.

You are experiencing the effects on a human, not on the earth itself.

As I said all we can do is guess. And ponder what the cost of that guess is

Who plays god and makes that decision?

If ontario goes "green", does that remove one drop from an already half full bucket?

IMO an effort would have to be grandious in scale worldwide, and we cant even co exist peacefully as humans so good luck with that happening

  9.

I confess, back in the 50's as a kid, I kept a Painted in a galvanized laundry tub and fed it earthworms , lettuce and raw hamburger all summer letting it go back in a pond Labour Day weekend. :whistling:

    I also have a confession.

My son found a pretty big painter turtle on a dirt road near the river. He ran over and picked it up.

    It pissed all over him.

My confession is I laughed hysterically at my own son

  10.

I didnt either. Still would be a cheap shot. Let the two fight it out. I never stepped in for a buddy no matter if he was losing or winning. They wanna go at it, let them go. Buddy grabbed batista and took him away. Never threw a punch at him. Just tried to settle things down. Smart move IMO. Now if he cracked him too, then it,s a free for all, but he didnt. I give that guy credit.

Thats the point, he didnt get to fight back.

Ive never stepped in a buddies fight either but I will if someone interfers maliciously.

But yeah, I can see your point.

  11. I get like 30 a day at the height of the season. Dont bother me one bit. Get home, inspect, remove, dispose of with a lighter.

I noticed a weird trend up this way the past 3 years however. They come out earlier and are gone much earlier. I wont see any now by about 1st or 2nd week in july.

    Same with deer ticks.

    No idea why however???

It used to be spring through fall
