  1. I'm assuming satellite would be pretty price too...I'd go for other options.

We have hydro but no land line phone only cell phone with poor reception. So I am only interested in satalite internet, does anyone in the Marten River area have such a thing or know anything about it. Thanks mikdor

  2. We have a camp in Marten River and next year we plan on living there from spring till fall and was wondering if any one knows of a reliable and economical satalite internet supplier.Any info would be appriecated,Thanks in advance mikdor

  3. That would be interesting. That lake is closed to the public jan 1st to mid may. I didn't even know there was a local band of natives out there, or that it was treaty land.

You sure your sources are reliable?

Well the guy that told my brother lives very close to the dam and noticed all the activity and found out what was going on.

  4. Love Marten river but the fishing can be very tough... The back lakes are best but not great for access or launching.

Wicksteed lake might be a good option. Big lake, lotsa walleye.

A Marten River local tells me the natives Have been netting Wickstead during the spawn so who knows how the fishing will be.

  7. You can also camp on the lake

Friends of mine did it a few years back and enjoyed it. Think it cost them $45 or so to get around the dam and they camped on one of the islands for 3 nights

My Wife and I stayed at Mitchell's Camp about 20 yrs ago and the camps were very clean and comfortable and the service was great we even had them deliver supplies and a newspaper daily and the price at the end of the week was unbelievably low.I don't know if they are still in operation but if they are I would highly recommend them,Because being nice honest people is what they are about.mikdor

  8. Hey Guys,

Heading up north to ice fish Lake Abitibi in the middle of February for a week or so. Don't have much experience on that particular body of water or with ice fishing for pickerel or pike for that matter. I have a pretty good idea of a few different baits and techniques to use, but I was hoping to hear from the other members of the forum to see if anyone had any recommendations in terms of what kind of jigs and set ups to use, what kind of lures to use, or any other useful information for Lake Abitibi. Has anyone here fished Abitibi yet?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi patriot

I have heard nothing but good things about lake abitibi and would like to go there this winter myself are you staying at a resort within traveling distance of the lake.I think if you want to know how to fish the lake you should p.m.Abitibi Ray

Please let me know what you find out Thanks mikdor

  9. Has anyone had this trouble?? packed the bearings with new grease, and when trying to knock the new dust cap(s) on, they pop back off, I am guessing form the air pressure, very frustrating. Is there a secret to this??

Mayby you have to much grease in the hub.Just a thought.

  10. Here is a link for the product.

    liquid roller link

    msds link

I know that it stays were you put it on the rails for at least one season so far and their is no visible signs that it is released like an oil shine on the water. The boat shows no signs from the product and it does not attract dirt or dust to scratch the finish. If you don't want to order from the USA you can google the company name or product name from the link and get it locally I am sure.

  11. Their is a product called liquid roller it is the greatest product made for launching a boat. I can not emphasize how slick this is it will dump your boat off the bunks on to the ramp without being wet. Always leave your strap or chain on till you are in place I kid you not. I saw two boats last year hit the ramp because of how effective this product is. The best part of it is your boat is supported fully on the boards of the trailer instead of on pressure spots were the glid-sticks (minor) or rollers (major)come in contact.
