  1. Well Lew Honda civic gets my vote over Toyota eventhough they are both good. The Civic is sleaker hands down better looking than the Corolla. When buying a small 4 cylinder car japanese are second to none. The Ford Fusion I am sure is a nice riding car but we are not comparing apples to apples. The Fusion is a Mid size sedan and it will not achieve the fuel economy of the Honda. The Ford is in another class midsize.

When I became a sales rep in 2000 I sold my 1989 Honda civic to a lady at the time it had 253 000kms on it.That same car is still on the road today with over 350 000kms on it.I drove the crap out of that little Civic and it just came back for more.

My current Van is a Honda Odessey 2000 no complaints.I had to change the front shocks only because Quebec roads are the worst in Canada.Just replaced the battery and I had to replace the timing belt at 100 000kms just regular maintenance. It pulls my 2600 pound tent trailer with ease.

My boat motor is a 50hp Honda runs like a dream.I had a 24 year old Honda 7.5hp when I sold it ,it ran like brand new.

One more thing the new civic has a very high safety rating!

Honda is the largest manufacturer of engines in the world.

    Get the civic.

As for Ford I would buy an F-150 but the Honda Ridgeline is lost in the pickup world.

  4. That was an awesome report Solopaddler I have always dreamed of a trip like that.Love the shot of the lost bet.I am trying to convince my buddies to take a canoe trip like that one.Its hard to convince 2 guys who have an 18ft and 24ft trailers and both can't leave there satelite TV at home. They are also worried about all the beer they would have to transport.I think I would do one trip like that before I get older but not with my 85lb fiberglass canoe a 3km portage would take me all day :stretcher: .Great shots .That looks like Paradise. :clapping::thumbsup_anim::Gonefishing:

  5. Hey folks I am looking for a portable wheel system to pull my 12 foot aluminium boat a short distance down to the water front to be launched.it would be used at a campsite.I googled this but I did not find anything decent.Something compact that folds into a small package.Does BPS or some other local canadian store sell this?

  6. Wayne you are a fortunate man.No way ever I will be able to get my woman to fish. She is a hell of an artist though like our own Pamela.Sometimes we go camping with a few other couples and the boys go fishing and the woman stay back at camp and craft(Boring!!!!!!!!!)I think they just Stich and B----. <_< My 2 daughters 10 and 12 are losing interest so I am grateful to have conceived my 8 year old son from the 1998 icestorm. At eight years old he will endure the entire day ice fishing never quits and is always determined.

The only boat I can get the wife in is the canoe. :wallbash:

So enjoy your ladies who fish they are valueable like gold.

  7. Hey guys I need your help to find a Campground. After 3 attempts to book a water site at Sandbanks Provincial Park I have now given up on Sandbanks. Its very difficult to get anthing on line through there Zoo of a booking system.

I am looking for a site on the water with or without electricity as long as I can fit a large tent trailer on the site.I would be bringing my 12 foot boat on top of my tent trailer so once I am on my campsite I can only access my boat from the site.I have no way of transporting the boat after the camp is set up.

I will go to private or Provincial Campgrounds .just don't put me on a lake with 3 foot swells as I am very limited with the 12 footer.Unfortunately I can't tow my 18 foot Lund and the tent trailer all at once so the little tinny is what I will be fishing from.

I also need a place that would be good for the family. So a nice beach would be one thing we need.

If you could send websites and site numbers that would be appreciated.

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Mike

  8. Hey Grog book a Bass fishing outting on site at Disney.I enjoyed the bass fishing at Disney unfortunately we had lousy weather lots of thunderstorms.I was out for an hour with the whole family in a spacious Pontoon boat $225 us for 2 hours all equipment and lures supplied. We hooked into a couple of small Bass and the black clouds rolled in it started to rain thunder lightning the whole nine yards .So we get back to the dock and I ask the Guide what do I owe you now since we were only out for an hour .I said what about $112.50 right.Wrong since you had lousy weather that hour is no charge. That is why people go back to Disney.Ask for Peter he was a great guide originally from Seracuse N.Y. :thumbsup_anim::Gonefishing::clapping:

  9. I was just watching motoring 2007 this morning and they were testing all pick up trucks 1/2 ton 3/4 ,1 tons all makes american and Japanese. They will be anouncing the winner in some upcoming episodes.TJ nice truck but in all honesty I can haul more cargo inside my Honda Odessey once I flip the 3rd row seet into the floor.I also here some of these V6 models consume as much fuel as the V8 full size pick ups.Toyota has the right Japanese truck Honda missed the point. It will be a Ford F-150 for me. :blahblah1::blahblah1::blahblah1:

  10. Geritt you have the right truck.I have had success with Honda's which I also like .I currently own a Honda Odessey which I am happy to own Had I not got such a good deal on it from someone I know I would have just bought another Ford. Before the van I had a 1994 Ford Taurus wagon which I bought 2 yrs old I drove it for 9 years I sold because I have 3 kids so I really needed a minivan to keep the peace in the back seat. Can't complain about my Taurus I just had to maintain Ti rods and ball joints. The 3 litre engine was trouble free and it had to be the most fuel efficient V6 I have ever owned.

I looked at the Honda Ridgeline pick up and it is not a real pick up not much cargo space in that cab.More like a truck for commuting.

For now I will drive the van and keep the peace in the back seat, but when it comes time to change it will be a Ford-150 4X4 for me.That is a real truck.

Number one selling vehicule in the US in 2006 was the Ford F series.

  11. I just have to say winter tires is the way to go.My Company is across Canada and only the Quebec sales reps have winter tires.I often hear we don't need winter tires in Toronto but I also here about the 700 to 800 accidents thats insain. What I can't understand is people pay $50 000 $60 000 for a BWM or a really nice SUV and they don't invest $600.00 for good snow tires. Not only that its snowing like hell and some people are driving 120kph on 4 seasons. How many lives could be saved each year if all canadians put some snow tires on.Winter is all over Canada! And one more thing SLOW DOWN WHEN IT SNOWS.MTP
