Love my Clam 2000 Dan, like Bill said easy set up, and it won't blow away in the wind. The only drawback is two guys our size would be a bit cramped in it. Although Juli's dad and I shared it on Simcoe last winter, and, we were okay.
Good luck, we'll have to get together (maybe invite that Ryan character too) for an ice fish buddy!

Welcome back Vince!! Haven't been on much myself lately...basement, busy, etc.
Get out on the water soon
-
I might be, but, I live about 10 minutes away from Jocelyn's store. Sorry Emile!!!
If you've never been before, have fun...it's amazing how much "stuff" he crams in that place!!
-
Great stuff, Mike!!!
Hoping to get out this weekend for some more chrome.
That spoon looks an awful lot like a Moonshine...one of the "oldtimers" at a spot I like to frequent started using them this year.

Great stuff Mike!!!!!
I've only been out twice so far, but, have stayed away from the river...tossing hardware at the rivermouths. Like you said, nothing beats the strikes. First time out, was using my old school Trilene XT, 8 lb set-up. Last time out, had my Pflueger Arbor 7450 (similiar to your US Reel) loaded with 30 lb braid, and a flouro leader. First time I've fished bows with braid...I'm a believer, definitely won't be the last time!!!

Not really close by, but, can get there in a day's journey...
SUPERIOR STEELHEAD!!!!!!
Would love to take a week off one year, and, fish the northern waters for a fish I love.

Always a good time with Lloyd. Some nice gold, and, I can back you up on the sheepshead statement. Nailed a 17 + lber out with Lloyd last year, hit and fought like a salmon!

Chartreuse and hot pink in prime, or stained water. White, yellow, light pink in clear.
Number 10 is my standard size hook. Smaller only if using small bags.
Free tip...if fishing dirtier water, add a bit of a hot coloured yarn to your hook. This "clown" presentation has worked amazingly well for me over the years.

I am too much of a wimp to go out on the ice in subzero weather, to catch freezing cold fish, in freezing cold water.Take pictures with a freezing cold camera, and sit for hours on a freezing cold stool.
freezong my cold off.
Ah, Paul...ice hut...propane heater or woodstove. Modern winter clothing, with layers. Can't do much about the freezing cold fish, though...maybe throw them in a nice hot pan

We could use a 'Off-Topic' forum to be honest.
I agree with Bill, but, can live with the status quo. It would be nice to see a section of JUST fishing topics.

I definitely fish more soft water, BUT, I do love ice fishing as well. Just can't go without fishing for that much time!!
-
Yeah, was hoping to get out for the first time this weeekend...no way that is happening now. Back to basement reno land.

Those baits are awesome Roy!! Nice work!!

So sorry to hear this Simon!! Sincere condolences, bud.

Tough news, Chris. Always hard to lose a family member, two legs or four.

Bang, Bang on the door baby!!!!!!!!!
Very nice Simon!! Enjoy...can't wait to see the videos.

Good stuff, as always, Mike!! Nice to see you two getting out for some beauty skis!
Have to try and hit that area soon.

http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif[/img] As you can see, i am not a brand loyal angler, and i fish with what feels good in my hands, rather than what the big advertising moguls tell me is best.
That makes two of us, but, when a rod blows up for no reason
Like I said earlier, Fenwick used to be one of the most reliable rods in the business. Now....not so much.
-
Way to go Brian! They are a blast to catch in the rivers, especially when you aren't fighting the crowds.
-
Good stuff Geoff!! You did the right thing.
-
Thanks. She went back in...What i meant was going home not catching nothing sorry for the confusion
No need to apologise either way...nothing wrong with keeping one fish. Unless you are fishing in a catch and release only zone.
Nice bow

Twenty years ago, I'd have said Fenwick...now, St Croix for sure. Had a Fenwick snap off with hardly any force on it while up north this year.

That is one sweet looking smokehouse!! Nice work

With the weather we've had recently feels weird to be asking an ice fishing question, but, you know it's got to come.
Looking for any recent info on the above lakes, did a quick search on the forum, and, found good and bad. Any other suggestions are appreciated as well. Looking to spend under $400 for two nights for the two of us.
Feel free to PM.
Thanks,
Frank
