Great report, always fun reading reports from different locations, featuring fish we don't see very often.
Congrats to your girlfriend on a real "hawg"!

Great recap buddy! May 2012 be an even better year! Here's hoping we get some ice down this way far a trip or two.
Looking forward to making the 2012 Fishing For A Cure the best one yet.
All the best to you, Ginny and the kids from myself, Juli and the boys!!

Tres bien, Jacques!! My stomach just growled thinking about fresh specks in the pan. Great first trip out my friend.
-
Jacques, I am beyond ready!! Can't wait to get out. Got some new ice jigs for Christmas, plus picked up a mini Pflueger Supreme on Ebay a couple months ago tbat I am dying to try out!
Good luck with the specks, bud!!!
-
Great stuff, Terry. Awesome feed of slabs for you guys! Can't wait to get out.
-
Merry Christmas Vince. Should be some great shots, again, this year.
-
Looking nice and cold up there today, how's the ice doing guys??
Still 23 days of ice making days until my trip.
-
Nice Henry!! What can I get on a trade in for my 2009 Prosport

Great stuff, Wayne
Amazing young lady, great to see her progress!

Sounds like you are on the right track. The splake should have a slight fork in the tail, just as BassAsin stated. How's the Giesler re-build coming along?
Craig is in the process of updating his photo restoration on his. I WILL get you some pics, and, PM his phone # to you.
Good luck on the ice, sounds like a great trip.

Grab one if he has it now Frank... they get as rare as hen's teeth when you really need one !
Your probably right, Wayne. As soon as that ice starts forming, or January 1st comes, things are gone quickly. I've said it before, I'm lucky to live as close to his store as I do.

Like you said in your op, go see Jocelyn.
Yeah, I've already talked to him about it, Ron. Just looking for a slightly cheaper alternative. Never hurts to ask, someone might have one kicking around that they aren't using.

Looking for an ice transducer for an older Lowrance X100C. Currently using the normal transducer mounted on my homemade setup. Works okay, but, I figure the proper ice transducer will be alot less fuss.
Anybody have one kicking around they want to part with for a reasonable cost? I can get a new one from Jocelyn, but, if anyone has any other suggestions I'd be happy to hear them.
Feel free to PM.
Cheers,
Frank

Yup, another vote for the FC. Giving Pline Fluoroice a shot on one combo this year.

Ah, yes!!!!!
Posts like this that make up for all the worthless tripe that we wade through during the winter.
BEAUTIFUL DREW

Lots and lots of steel out there boys
No ice fishing equipment required!
Might take advantage of that during my week off at Christmas!

Still thinking it might be 2012 before there is ice for me to fish.
Now that's what I'm talking about!!! Bring it ON!!

two nights like this, with no snow and I'll be fishing on some small lakes.
Nice! As long as Callander is froze over on January 15th...I'm a happy camper!

Great stuff, Simon! Enjoy!!!!!

I was going to suggest Everett's Northern Excursions on Restoule with either on ice bungalows or his cabin. Great mix of species and good price with decent to great fishing.
I saw that one, but, didn't contact him. Had a great time camping up there a couple of years ago...pretty tough fishing, actually did better wading of the back of our site, than in the boat.
Wasn't sure how the ice fishing would be...may have to do a couple of trips, lol.

After checking out a bunch of places, and, doing a bunch of research here on the board....I've decided on Idle Tyme on Nip. Good accommodations and huts, decent mix of fish + many thumbs up from a bunch of you guys and gals.
Booked for mid-January...now just need the ice!!!!
-
Good advice from the guys. Paypal is fantastic for Ebay purchases, but, I agree with the majority...for kijiji...get cash.

Went for a long weekend to Kashagawigamog (I assume that's the lake you mean) back in February. There were five of us and we rented ice huts from one of the lodges. Fishing was slow. We caught some small perch, a couple of musky, couple of herring and a walleye. Always nice to get out on a new lake, but sometimes it can be tough. I think it has potential and it's not a very busy lake.
I've been considering Bernard for a while now and we might head up there next season for an annual weekender.
PM sent.
Thanks to the guys that have sent a couple of pms my way as well. Basically I'm just looking for decent (doesn't have to be great) fishing, with decent accomodations for a two night weekday stay.
Boshkung was another lake I was looking at.
