Off season bargains? What a novel concept!
Thanks Craig and irishfield!
Excellent tip on the shear pins!
Of course not everyone is able to take advantage of them, considering cash flows etc.
But if you can, an excellent tactic to employ.
I certainly do the same, at every opportunity.

Probably too long ago for 90% of the folks here.
Another acoustical you should search out is the Deliverence song "dueling banjos"
An original Flatt and Scruggs tune. Awesome IMO.

Beer and whine, is indeed a Canadian pastime.
An option is the OH Canada.
50/50 Canadian Maple Syrup, and 40 Creek Rye, over ice.
Relives the pain faster, but the tongue gets thicker, quicker as well. lol

One of the better acousticals of the day.
Been many years since I've heard it.
Thanks for shaking the memory tree.

Given that Black Friday is the craziest shopping spree in the US, I'd be leaving as soon as possible. Hotels around the malls will be booked already.
As for the Border people, I cross two to three times a week. I never have a problem.
Answer the questions they ask you truthfully. If the question can be answered in one word, then do that. Don't offer any other info unless asked.
All will go well.

SInce the $2/license wont cure the deficit, this is another money maker for the Libs.
This will prove to be a very bad decision, I'll bet;
The Ministry of Natural Resources will not recall 30 seasonal firefighting staff who work out of Sault Ste. Marie.
MPP David Orazietti said the local cuts will not affect the capabilities of the MNR to fight fires.
“What I can say is they are expecting to maintain a similar complement in terms of total number of jobs in the organization during next year’s fire season,” said Orazietti.
Those seasonal jobs just won’t be filled in Sault Ste. Marie.
A statement from the office of Natural Resources Minister Bill Mauro reads:
“Thirty seasonal staff are receiving notice that they will not be recalled to their current positions. Sault Ste. Marie will continue to have 350 full-time staff – more than any other community except Peterborough, where MNRF has its headquarters. These changes will not affect our ability to protect Sault Ste. Marie or surrounding communities. MNRF operates all fire facilities as a network that responds to fires wherever they occur.”

Maybe the Liberals had this in the works for many months. Maybe they didn't.
But between the new charges for a Seniors license, and the new $2 "on top of everything tax".
This really is a bunch of crap.
Sure, it's only $2. An extra large Timmies. etc, etc.
But it never stops.
AND WE DON"T GET ANY THING FOR IT!

Just saw this on FB

The service fee will be applied to:
- Outdoors Cards.
- Hunting and fishing licences.
- Draws for which a fee is charged.
The service fee will be charged across all points of purchase, including:
- Online.
- By phone.
- In-person at a ServiceOntario counter or private licence issuer.
- The Fish and Wildlife Special Purpose Account currently supports approximately two-thirds of fishing and hunting opportunities in Ontario.

Google Earth is your friend on this one. Access points are easy to spot on the computer, and easy to find when driving. I know because I just did it.
If you are actually looking for someone to provide detailed directions, it probably won't happen.
Especially since your first post is asking for directions to a fishing destination.

Hey Dave
It's been many years since you invited me to share your hallowed ground. I remember it like it was yesterday!
Your photos just enrich those memories!
I must content myself with eastern GL fish for another year, but hope to head west next year. Thanks for giving us the teaser!

Give Kyle a shout. He makes some awesome lures!
I have no affiliation with him or the company, just know a good product when I see it.

I heard it as well!
What a trip that would be from England back. Any odd sound and the heart would pound a little heavier. 4 engines notwithstanding.

I will second the Map My Tracks app!
Should be exactly what you need. Just make sure your case is waterproof or you keep it in a ZipLoc bag. You don't even need to be online!

Dont back it in any farther than the back rollers touching the water.
It should pull straight then.
Worked for my 24' every time.

There is a ramp beside Nichols Marine in FtErie.

Should use at least. 16 ga nails. 18 gauge will rust out pretty quickly, covered porch or not, in my opinion.

Just copy/paste the text. That way us non members can read it.

20 HP is fairly easy to pull start in case you ran the battery too low with the electronics, so why not?

The mystery continues. I sent the photos to John Milner who has made centerpins for many years. He said likely British, but could not provide more than that.
Thanks for your efforts all!

There is a brass cage that is common to British Centerpins, and also was utilized in BC reels in the early years.
The fact that the cage in this case is for a person who would reel with their right hand, is making me lean to BC.

Not old.....just mature, in your thought process.

Thin Waterproof Gloves - Existence unknown
in General Discussion
Posted
From my experience, tight fitting anything on my hands or feet, ends up making for cold extremities.
I have taken to using the Hot Paws brand of fleece gloves for cold weather centerpinning. They are not waterproof. I also use the chemical toe warmers, with the adhesive that holds them in place. I use them stuck on the inside palm of the gloves. My buddy sticks them on the inside back of the gloves. Either way, they keep our hands toasty warm for more than 4 hours. I also carry a towel on my fishing vest, and make sure the hands are dry, after landing a fish. the old adage of "an ounce of prevention, etc" is correct.
