  1. Well, 3rd time was a charm! Thanks to everyone for your help on getting started. Fished for 8 hours on Sunday with very poor results and a very long day. But, went out on Monday evening and went 6 for 10!! Almost everything on spoons. Here is a couple pictures of my buddy (and my son) with the 2 largest! Why didnt anyone tell me salmon fishing was this much fun ;-)
  2. A real small rainbow and I think 3 salmon...what kind...no idea :-)
  3. We just got a small 1...but it's a fish!
  4. No tickets for this year. Hard to justify the cost for 2-3 outings.
  5. Thanks for the help. I have 4 dipsy rods, 2 magnum dipsys and 2 #1s. Should I pick up 2 more magnums? It's suppose to be a calm evening tomorrow, but I will of course keep an eye on it. I'm not too proud of a guy to call it quits if it's going to blow up! Thanks again!
  6. I would love to have someone head out with my buddy and I. Either frenchmans or Whitby. Any takers?
  7. Hey guys, I am going to head out on Lake Ontario for the 1st time (in my boat) tomorrow evening (weather/wind permitting). I live in Brooklin (Whitby) but am probably going to launch out of Frenchmans Bay. No down riggers yet, just dipsy's. Any tips, suggestions, helpful tid bits you could provide would be appreciated. I am more going out to get my bearings and if I hook into one, that is just an added bonus! I want my first time out to be when there is daylight and I will do the early morng fish once I feel comfortable. Thanks in advance, Matt
  8. I had a full size SUV (wont name names) that I thought was a great tow vehicle as it was pretty much as big as they came. I now have a 2011 f150 Lariat Limited and I realize that my last vehicle wasnt far from a great tow vehicle. It is hard for an SUV to beat a full size pick up for towing. It also has a massive back seat for kids and dogs!
  9. I am on a smaller lake in the Kawarthas and love it. However, I have considered moving onto the Trent. From the research I have done, Cameron would be my first choice for 2 reasons. Location and size. I dont want to be on a large body of water like Balsam, but I love the idea of being sandwiched between a couple nice size bodies of water. There are some great sandy areas on the lake and you are surrounded by good fishing. Just my 2 cents
  10. Just Encase Box I picked up last year I keep getting a server error during upload...any ideas? The pic is only 67kbs, so no problem there
  11. Hey all, I am picking up my new rig in about a months time and I purchased my electronics separately. The Marina where I purchased the boat has offered to install them at no charge, but from the research I have done on the newer units with side imaging, etc. you want to ensure they are installed the proper way. I live in North Whitby and was wondering if anyone can recommend someone in Durham Region that does this kind of work. There will be 2 HDS units on RAM mounts and the LSS1. I would rather pay a little bit of money to make sure it is set up the right way. Thanks in advance, Matt
  12. Thanks guys. Aikmens is going to get me them back in a few days, great service and very responsive. Its just a ways out of the way, so I was looking for something closer
  13. Hey guys, I got a shimano calcutta and an abu record that I want to get some maintenance work on prior to working them hard this fall. I know Aikmens in Mississauga is good, but is there a place in Durham anyone can recommend? Thanks, Matt
  14. I have only fished there a few times, but orange blade and black skirt bucktail or spinner bait would be my choice. I also hear guys do well on walleye colours. Good Luck!
  15. Hey Guys....I'm going to buy a Navionics Hotmaps Canada card for my new HDS5 Lowrance. I was just about to buy the Platinum card but was told the Platinum card works very slow and to get the Premium. Does anyone have any input into the performance of the Platinum card? Or any recommendations on whether to get one or the other? Thanks guys, Matt
  16. Hi All, I (myself and a friend) need to rent a cottage for a family vacation in August. We figured, why not kill 2 birds with one stone and rent a cottage in an area with great fun for the whole family (kids aged 3-8) as well as the chance of hooking into a trophy musky. I have spent my entire musky fishing career (only 6-7 years) on the kawarthas and now want to start to get into some of the more "trophy" potential waters. My first thought for this was Georgian Bay somewhere between Honey Harbour and the Moon River basin. Does anyone know of a specific area I should look for a rental? Please understand I am not looking for any specific fishing spots or something like that, I just want to make sure that we are in the right vicinity. Not knowing Geogian Bay very well and the body of water being so large, I could make a mistake on where I rent a cottage and it could take me 3 days in the boat to get to good fishing water! Anyways, sorry for the long winded post, but any suggestions or thoughts on locations, (Geogian Bay or others) would be greatly appreciated. We are also considering renting a guide for a couple of days toward the beginning of the week no matter where we go, so any input on a good guide in the area would be great also. Please feel free to email or PM me if you dont want to post any specific information on here [email protected]. Thanks a bunch guys! Matt

This is actually for my father in law. I guess if he finds out who makes the motor, he can contact them to get a gas cap? He found the right size, but the thread patern was different.
  18. Hi Everyone, I know the company that made this is out of business, but does anyone know were I can find a gas cap? Thanks in advance, Matt
