I think the only hope for the Leafs now is to bring in some fresh talent (a new Crosby if you will) because unless they start winning games no established player is going to want to play with them. Sundin left because he knew that there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell that he would get to hold the cup if he stayed in Toronto.

Believe it or not, but not everyone visiting this board is out there to steal the precious spots that someone else probably discovered long before you did. My main reason for coming here is to learn how to become a better fisherman by reading about different rigs/lures/techniques and their applications. From my experience, people on this board keep their cards pretty close to their chests, and it's not as if seeing a few trees and some water in the background of a photo is going to be a huge tipoff. Not to mention anyone with a car, boat, pair of waders and a watershed map can go pretty much anywhere they want. I'm going to assume that if you're not fishing off your private dock you don't have a deed for the water or the land under it, so it is perfectly within someone else's legal right to fish there too. And if someone wants to actually *shock* help out a newbie with some generic fishing information then that is their right to do so. Obviously I am not a fishing pro so it is not like I can contribute as much information as the regulars. The point system you suggest would be detrimental to the board because it would force people to post irrelevant information or hundreds of newbie question topics instead of simply allowing people to search for information that has been previously shared. Oh and there is one last loophole in your plan. If the board is switched to members only, all someone would have to do is register and they could view all the topics they want. So it really wouldn't make much of a difference.

I have caught a few small sunfish there before and went back to try it again with the old man for Canada Day and got nothing. I saw at least ten other people lined up on both sides of the road with the same intentions, but they didn't seem to be getting any either. That's not even counting all the guys on the water. I know there are fish there because I saw a few nice sized ones picking bugs off the surface, but they seem to be pretty shy of anglers.

Hi all! For years I have been fishing for pannies around Erie Au and the St. Clair River and have good success on small rigs and live bait. Lately however I've been trying to get my dad into fishing as a father-daughter activity we can both enjoy by using floats and dew worms here in Haldimand-Norfolk, but have had little success. Where are the best shore spots around here for panfish (perch and bluegill in particular)? I'm not looking for giants, just some action. For the record, here is a list of places I have already tried with poor results: Port Dover Pier, Port Maitland Pier, Waterford ponds, above and below the Caledonia dam, and Lions park in Cayuga. On each occasion we fished later afternoon-evening with live bait. I haven't seen anyone else around catch much either, besides a flock of sheepheads at Maitland.
