  1. Non-residents get outdoor cards as well. I believe it's new this year. When you get your license, you also apply for the outdoor card. You'll get two pieces of paper that you need to bring when you go fishing. (The temporary outdoor card and whichever fishing license you choose to buy.) I got my license and applied for the outdoor card in March, but haven't seen it yet. My fiancee, which is a Canadian resident got her outdoor card in the mail apx six weeks later. Lots of places issue the licenses. Marinas, bait- and tackle stores, most Canadian Tire stores etc.
  2. Wow... Sounds like some clowns from MNR there... Can they just go ahead and check your cabin for fish like that? No warrant needed?
  3. I know, I know. Have been catching lots of gobies around the thousand islands/St. Lawrence river. All invasive species are a pain...
  4. Extraordinary or not... I appreciate the congrads!!! I always find catching new species interesting and fun!
  5. Thanks, guys! Just wondering - Is this a common species to catch in these waters? And would it be good to eat? I released it, guess I shouldn't have - being invasive species...
  6. I'm just back from a week at a rental cottage on Twelwe Mile Bay. Unfortunately my boat wasn't cooperating at all times, so I didn't get around as much as I was hoping for. But anyways, we caught a few smallmouths, perch and panfish. And the one in the photo as well. Can anyone tell me what it is? Is it a White perch? Never caught one like this before. Are they common? By the way, I was fishing with worm and floater at the time. Thanks in advance!
  7. BTW, Harbour limits are as follows: West: A line extending one mile into the lake south from the Humber river South: A line extending one mile into the lake south from Gibraltar Point East: A line extending one mile into the lake south from the eastern boundary of the old city of Toronto, at Victoria Park. Area immediately adjacent to the east and west of the main runway at Island airport is a no go... Speed limits are 10 knots and 5 knots. (5 within 150 metres of any shoreline or breakwater.)
  8. You need a license to operate a powerboat within the Toronto outer/inner harbour. It's called Toronto Port Authority Power Vessel Operator Permit. It seems like a money pit for the city... Has to be renewed yearly. I signed up to take my test with Humber Sailing & Powerboating Centre. Total cost is $ 75.
