  1. Hi there, we have a cottage on Lake of Bays and the South Portage launch is excellent. We use that launch for all our boats. It is a bit of a boat ride to Baysville
  2. Thanks for the great report! What was the water temp where you caught the lakers?
  3. Hi Henry, Dorset has a restaurant on the water where you can pull up your boat and have some food. There is also some shops in the town. I believe Baysville also has a restaurant on the water, however, I have never been so can say for certain. Hope that helps
  4. Getting ready to head up to the Lower French river

  5. Hey guys, I am heading down to the lower part of the French river this weekend and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on where to fish. My friend has a cottage near the Bad River lodge just past Devils Door and the Jamison and we plan on fishing for 3 days. I have heard the Jamison can be good for walleye and just wondering if there are any good pike or muskie spots. Our plan so far is to fish the outer edges leading into Georgian Bay. Thanks, Marcus
  6. I agree, don't think there any walleye in LOB. I am probably heading up there next weekend to try my luck again with the Lakers. We usually use downriggers but was wondering if jigging might be more effective?
  7. @ F to the Is-H Where abouts on Lake of Bays were you fishing? I was up there last weekend as well, tried fishign for lakers around Dwight Bay but no luck. Was marking quite a few fish between 60'-80' so looks like they are pretty deep.
  8. Thanks guys, John you are correct the pike are mostly near the river month at Dwight bay. If you go up the river a little bit you will run into some weed beds where they like to hang out. Also there are two islands when heading into Dwight which has produce a few nice ones. Other then that i don't think there are many pike in the lake but over the last 3 years it seems like the population is growing. I am heading up there this weekend and going to try my luck for lakers
  9. Hello, just wondering if anyone on this forum goes out on Lake of Bays? We have a cottage up there and have been fishing the lake with limited success. We are close to Dwight bay and have had some descent luck catching pike and bass but the lakers are another story. If anyone has any tips for catching lakers I am all ears. I have heard that fishing across Bigwinn Island is a good spot but haven't been out there yet. Cheers, Marcus
