    Thanks very much.

Looks like about four grand?  What's the difference between i-pilot and i-pilot link?

    Doug

We got a good deal about 3 k 3 Years ago.

The link feature integrates the sonar and the motor more.  Allows you to follow lake contours... ie.  I can tell the motor to keep me in 14 ft of water and follow the shoreline at whatever mph I tell it.

Allows for more saved tracks and waypoints.   Has a nicer remote.  I'm sure it does more but I haven't taken the time to learn it.

Biggest features for me are spotlock. Spot lock jog ( move in 5 ft increments in any direction while spotlocked)   Auto pilot.   I use it when drifting to keep my heading down on st Clair River as well as slow the drift.    Also use auto pilot on erie and lake o trolling.  We use the kicker for thrust and I set a heading on the hummingbird can dile in exact speed  and heading and not have to have my hands on the wheel all day I actualy bungee the steering wheel straight.

Complete gamecganger.   Let's me fish instead of drive the boat all day.

  2. Looks like an awesome trip. Awesome memories.

We have a cheap champion ( the tiny one)   it's not quiet but runns our onboard 20 amp. No issues for a few hours a night to keep it topped up when camping.  Have a 100ft extension cord so put the genny off in the woods to keep noise down.  Want a Honda but can't bite the bullet.

    Hell ya man!

I did a similar trip this spring too. Need to get a full report up, we got a lot luckier with the weather but it seems like you did a bit better on the fishing!

glad to see you back hopefully you are free enough to do some more posting, been a bit of a ghost town around here lately. Truthfully seems like a lot of the guys are retired from fishing/physical limitations limit how often they can go and poke a few.

what you are going to have to do is teAch the kids and bring them when they are old enough. Then they can be the ones chirping you old farts

That's why we bring my dad :)

Fishing was great average size was 20 inches probably caught 100 the last 2 days.   6 in the first 2 days lol

  4. Well... I have been pretty absent posting here for a while 2 kids in 2 years and a  pandemic what can I say.    Was supposed to go to Nipigon this year after skipping last year due to the 'vid and the birth of my seccond child.   Crown land camping was up in the air till last moment this year and so one of the regulars took a contract to frame a few houses with no guarantee we were going to be able to go. So we cancelled .

We all had some vacay planned but the 15 hr drive would cut into fishing......Plan B

We endeded up north of North bay and south of New liskard.  Boats loaded heavy enough to not get on plane for the 40k  ride  in, mostly beer and single malt  weight. Lake was down 4 ft of water, unpleasant as the fist 20 k of our trip was normaly through 10-15 fow only kissed once :) ,  We got pounded by 40k wind the first few days not able to fish prime spots.

Enough with the negatives, what we did have was a few days of stellar  fishing 20 -25 inch walleye and  two years of chirps and laughter saved up, made for a wonderful  release.   Even ran into fellow ofc'er chuckenwind up there was good to catch up, Haddent seen him since we braved the snow one fall like lunatics to chase Auroras dropped In the wrong lake a bunch of years ago... long story.  Even rumors he caught a Walter of a lifetime.  Maybe he can chime in with a pic of the beast.

Hope everyone's doing OK. Hopeing to do a little more fishing this year.

    Here's the goods.

  5. Hey everyone.

Just put a kicker on my 19ft legend.  Removed the swim platform/ladder  to have a spot to land fish at the back on the other side. I    Like the idea of having a ladder for kids when tubing ect and not a rope one.   So many options out there anyone have experiance with a small fold up ladder on back of transom.   I've looked for days and can't seem to find one I like.

getting a boat in oct.  are you seriouse about using electric trolling motor to steer while the 9.9 kicker does the pushing... Why?  been along time since out in a boat

Ipilot... put main in gear bungee steering wheel straight  and the bow mount will keep me in a straight line even in 2 fters .   So much nicer than sawing the the steering wheel all day.

Turn fish id off.  Yo want to see your balls in relation to the hooks and adjust accordingly
