  1. If you really want to get streaming coverage from CTV you can get a vpn account which will effectively give you a Canadian IP. I am doing this from South America right now, and it works well. There are many different vpn providers out there, but I am using http://www.purevpn.com/ for about $6/month. You can buy just one month if you like. Once your account is setup, they will email you instructions on how to configure your computer, which is fairly straight forward. I know NBC is even more restrictive than CTV - you need a US ip address, and you must be subscribing to a cable package which includes NBC, and have some kind of account with your cable provider that you use to login to the NBC site.
  2. The sling blade, as the name suggests, was designed specifically for the new wave of double #10 and #13 bucktails (dbl cowsgirls, etc.). It was in development for over 2 years, and is one of the best muskie rods you can buy. I disagree that you won't notice a difference when compared with the premier line. The legends are lighter and come with a life time warranty. All this said, I own 3 premier series rods because I just don't spend enough time on the water to justify the legends. If you are looking for a premier rod to approximate the sling blade, the closest you will get is the the PM80HF. The only 8'6" premier rod is the PM86XHF, and in my opinion it is a bit too heavy for the big blades. Hope this helps.
  3. I like the St Croix Premier PM80MHF as an all purpose rod, which is available at Bass Pro Shops for around $200. They are made in the USA and just have that quality feel to them. The 8ft length makes figure eights a lot easier, and the easier they are the more inclined you are to do them on every cast (or at least a half eight), and more figure eights equals more fish. Simple as that. The lure weight of this rod is 3/4 - 3 oz which will have you covered most of the time - except maybe for Pounders I have never used a Compre rod, but in looking at the specs, I would be inclined to go with the CPCM80H. http://www.stcroixrods.com/rods/default2.a...mp;section=spin http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/gl...ie_casting.html
  4. Some nice fish there! I am also fishing Pigeon in a few days with a couple of friends. Did you notice any patterns you would be willing to share? eg. Weeds vs Rocks vs Suspended, Depths, time of day, type of baits (bucktails, topwater, crank, etc.). Any pointers you, or anyone else , can provide are much appreciated! Attached is a fish I caught a couple of weeks ago on Pigeon. Not huge, but was fun. Especially taking pictures on your own. Got him on a white bucktail, at around 11:00am, while fishing a weed line dropping from ~6ft to ~20ft.
