  1. Well you keep working at that GM dealership, unlikely you'll ever see me, after the last fiasco of $18000+, yes eighteen thousand over 10 years of repairs, if GM was the only company left making trucks, I'd push a wrong wordrickshaw around.

Hey, to each his own I guess.... I can see where your coming from. But I mean, its not THAT often you run into someone that has had that many problems with there vehicle. How many Kms were on that truck ? and were they major issues ? because those $$ can add up quickly. And also, was it $18000 worth of parts alone ? or is that labour PLUS PLUS ya know ?

It makes me mad reading posts about how good foreign vehicles are... and then 2 or 3 topics down the board.... its the same people complaining about the economy... or how they lost there job....

Personally... Im going to drive the big 3 till I can... its a free country and you can drive what you please !! :thumbsup_anim:

  2. Hey everyone,

Im just curious what everyones preference is ? I have a lead on a 16ft. Welded steel hull with trailer and motor for approx $2000.

up till now I have been looking for aluminum.... but the sound of welded steel kind of peaks my interested. Dont have to worrie about rivets coming lose. If for some reason there is a leak, you can alway weld a patch on it.

I guess the question is, what would you go with... aluminum or steel hull ?

  3. I went out there a few years ago at the end of august... we were salmon fishing on the island.

Its amazing there... sea lions swimming around right at the cleaning station. all shorts of beautiful scenery!

We picked the wrong guys to take us out and we were skunked the first 2 times out and finally picked up a good guide and landed 3, 30+lbs salmon !

Plus he took us to his shrimp traps and gave us a wack load of shrim for free !

I think your REALLY going to enjoy it, The best part about it is its.... FREEEEEEEE ! haha good luck !

  4. Ebay changed there Feedback system theres no more Negative,if there was any Negatives they all got erased when the new system came in ,Ebay likes to look after the scum to ,they get there cut and could give a poop about the buyer it seems

You DEFFINATLY can leave negative Feedback..... If you are the SELLER, you cant leave NEG feeback to the buyer.... simply because if you are a sumbag seller and your buyer posts negative, guys were just posting negative to the buyer as a retaliation... So, buyers can leave negative still... sellers cannot !

  5. Any reason you are not looking at imports? Ive owned a few differnet trucks now and the toyota and Nissian's are leagues above the domestic crap that is being produced. way better tranny's and drive systems.

save yourself some hassel and by a import, just my 2 cents.

    :)

The sheet metal on your forgein trucks are made outta pop can tin it seems, Also, your Nissan has the wrost frame flex outta the whole market.... Seen plenty of pictures of guys warping boxes and what not.

Seen pics of the tail gates being twisted due to so much frame flex.... Working at a GM delaership for 2 yrs, I think I might have saw ONE or TWO trucks in for engine/tranny work.... Not one of the trucks I ever sold had a problem either !

Pisses me off a bit..... Because they slap their Nissan name on a truck, All of a sudden its the best unit available ! In my opinion.... The REAL trucks are still number one.

Youll never catch me in the seat of a Nissan or a Toyota.

  6. If you are going with the choice only in your post, I would go with the 4.8L V8 ... I drive one of these everyday, 2wd reg cab, long box.

We run them hard and they are GREAT on gas.... they are a little big of a hog when towing, but any of the choise you posted would be.

I live in chatham Ont and I drove from chatham to london round trip TWICE on under a half tank of gas. My truck has a 115L tank roughly.

With a 16.5ft boat... It would be "good" on gas.... I would say... not GREAT

If you could look into the 5.3L V8 from GM .... then you would be set.... by far the best gas milage IMHO when towing or driving, as long as you dont have a heavy foot.

  7. Don't ever feel stupid about asking a question. I'd wager that 30% of the people are really glad that you asked the question FOR them.

Hahahah yea, Im one of those 30% ... I had no idea what they were either, just never asked the question I guess !!!

    Thanks for the info

  8. Hey everyone,

Headin down to Orlando the second week of march and Im lookin for a good Bass fishing guide.

Ive been doing a little re search online and I came across " Hawghunters"....http://www.hawghunter.net/home.htm... they seem to be a pretty decent charter.

You can get 2 full days on whatever lakes you want for $700 US for 2 people ? Or since Im goin out with the Wife, and I dont know how she will handle casting/retrieving for a full day, you can do a 6 hour trip for I think $350 US for 2 people.

Any one ever done this before ? Hiring a guide that is, what was your experience ?

Is there any decent shore fishing in the Kissimee area ? granted I can skip the Gators ! haha

    Thanks !

    Tyler

  9. I know a girl, at the time she was 17-18, and she was doing approx 150kph in a 50pkh zone.... she got pulled over, shed a tear for the cop, and was let off with a warning !!!!!!!!! hahahah

I sell farm equipment so Im driving the back roads VERY often, usually I keep it around 15-25 over the limit... when driving in town, usually 10 over !

The question I have... and Ive heard many different views..... how fast is, I guess tolerable on the 401 ? I usually drive around 120.... and Ive had no problems, some people think 115 some people say 110 ? i dunno !

  10. thanks for all the great help !!!

I guess to add a little more info, it will be about 70% boat and 30% shore line/wader fishing.... pretty well for bass, and small pike... hahah we dont pull in the monster notherns.... only about 2.5-3 ft in length....

as for rods... im thinking :

-one 6 foot ( not sure the action, maybe medium ) with shimano sahara 2500FD?

-two 6'6 baitcast .... medium/heavy action ? not sure on the reels yet... HELP !

-one 7' spinning.... heavy action.... for flippin ? again with a shimano sahara 3000FD ( I might use this one for musky aswell ? )

At the momeny i have a shimano 6'6 M with a Abu Garcia " black max " bait caster .... I also have a 6'6 heavy action rhino rod with a Abu Garcia 6600 reel... i dont like this combo together because of the weight, heavy reel, heavy rod.... not a good combo.... so i think i need a new rod for this reel, ORR i might make it the musky combo !

  11. Hey everyone....

I'm starting to get a nice selection of tackle together and i think that i might need to update my rods/reels.... I plan to do this over a period of time.

I plan on getting 4 new rods and reels. I'm looking at the Bass Pro shops XPS series rods.... but not sure what reels..... bait casters are mainly what I'm looking for but i also want 1 or 2 spinning reels

I had a look at the Shimano sahara SH3000FD and i like the $$ and the feel.

I don't know what to look at as far as a good affordable bait caster ?

I think for each set up i want to spend approx $150-175 maybe $200 making my money go as far as possible ! haha

What I'm looking for is the right variety of lengths and action for the different techniques of fishing.... any help would be great !

    Thanks !!!!!

  12. Hey everyone, a buddy and myself are looking into going on a fishing charter for musky this fall on Lake St.Clair ! .

He called and asked when the earliest date we could get out with a particular crew that he was reffered, and the earliest is Oct.25 ?????

to me that seems to be awfully late in the season.... but i could be wrong ?

So would it be worth it ?...$500 for 4 people ! Oct. 25 ?

    Thanks

  13. Hey there... a friend of mine and I are going to head out on lake St. Clair tonight for some musky/bass !!!! ahahah first time either of us have attempted this on St. Clair.

We're launchin the boat at the marina in Mitchelles Bay.... which would be the best spots to hit for a few first timers ?

    Thanks for any help

  14. Well ive narrowed it down.... looks like im goin with a 16'basic set up and ill just out fit it with the stuff i need... its the cheapest way to be safe i would say. enough boat to handle the water and im goin with a 25 HP 2 stroke.... so i think itll have enough power !

thanks for all the help.... one more question..... does $7800 sound about right for a 16' aluminum, 25 yamaha 2 str, and a wide stance "V1600" trailer ?

  15. I'm a princecraft fan, but you'll get more if you buy the Tracker prov16, the link you posted is not the prov16. The prov16 is wider and slightly higher should handle rough water a little better, the 50hp 2 stroke should be enough to do high 20s mph(27-29mph).

Also to properly compare you would compare the prov to a princecraft resorter/starfish dlx.

Yes i understand that the boat arent comparable. But im comparing monthly payments.

Im not paying cash, if i was then i would look at the other 2 boats you mentioned... REALLY i dont think im goin to go for the V16... By what every one is telling me, AND just my feeling is that i should go for the 16 footer.

its a simple boat. and it will do the job
