  1. I guess that is why I LOVE living on a farm....well a couple of weeks ago 20 bikers went by on our lil farm road...Big event out here! Way to many people for me, maybe you need to get away that weekend!

To bad to hear about the losses, ruins everthing! I think my brother was worried if my mom got flooded, he would have to move my moms cookie jar collection! She has over 150 of them!

As for me I love to barbeque all year long! But nothing like an open fire at a camp....And of course cooking fresh fish on the pit!

  2. A simple lil Hi to all.......

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer, firing up the grill and all is well....

Had a bit of a scare last week as my mom and sister live in Coffeyville Kansas where they had a horrible flood and bursted open one of the oil refinerys vats...Missed them by 3 blocks....and there side of town is the highest part of town.....They are being well taken care of....

Have been fishing here and there every chance we get, hubby caught a nice 7 lbs bass just before season...

Of course no camera! Sure hated to throw it back!

We are trying to plan a couple of days soon of going out and throw the tent up do a lil fishing and watch the stars....Wanting to find a new spot though, not in a provicial park either....Any Ideas?

Drop a line about your summer adventures.....anxious to hear! :Gonefishing:

  3. Okay...

This made me shed a tear....((((HUGS)))) for ya! Three years ago I lost my childhood friend of 45 years to cancer. We loved to fish and that is what we did the 8 months she had left here on earth. She even gave me her good luck bib overall shorts!

So for Herb & my friend Deb When I catch a big one it is to them!

Hold your chin up and think of the memories you made! :Gonefishing:

May God be with you and Herbs family

  7. I am testing a new browser, and one of the features is that you can have anything read to you as voice recognition.....I used it because I have a reading impairment, so it is difficult for me to interpret things through reading.

  9. :D Hey Welcome!

There is a couple of good spots around Cooks Bay, and not all of us indians wanna scalp ya either! Pay close attention...The mouth of a certain place near a well known marina has hosted a few good size fish and a lil variety too....You can see the rocks forming a wall too.....The southern part can be fun too.....

The reason we join this thread is to fish and have fun.....Good Luck and happy fishing!

  10. About a year ago my husband was having breathing problems and many prescriptions later...

He went to many Doctors and finally found some good ones.

We found out today, after being there last week, he will need to have surgery Monday.

So far, it will just be day surgery and a biopsy, so he gets to come home that day.....

Right now all we know is he has a growth in the nasal/sinus passage, which is bleeding down into his lungs.

As a small child he had to have all of that area reconstructed due to damage from birth process.

Right now I am trying to be supportive and tell him we can only take one day at a time....

Only God knows what tomorrow will bring.....

Thanx, I will let you know what happens....

  12. HICK from the midwest definition:

Guys who act dumb, but have more money than Fort Knox, usually laughs at city folks...And loves the song "Country Boy can survive" Aren't to pleasant to look at, but always has cash on them....And guess what everything they own is paid for!

So which do you want to be? City Slicker or Hick/redneck country boy?

  13. Lorissa; next time hubby needs boots, come around to this side of thelake at the Cookstown outllet mall 89&400, and go in there to see Heberts, it's a shop for boots and shoes and I doubt you'll leave empty handed.

If I take him there, we will be there from opening til closing, hhhhmmm but that would be to my advantage too! We're going! Shopping! See it works this way, he pays over 200 for boots then feels guilty. So when I ask for something under 10.00, this guilt applies! So thanx!
