  3.  Thanks again

I sold out in about a week and a half . It was intended to be a limited run,as I had a limited amount of supplies . I have since got a crazy amount of orders for more , so I have put in an order for more beads and materials . Will be about a week or so before I get my orders .

I lucked out on this order as the next I will not be so lucky . .

All stock that suppliers are bring in now, are priced with the new tariffs  . The percentage increase is extremely stupid crazy . US and China are killing the affordable prices .

    Brass,tungsten and hooks .

    Here are a couple examples

In September due to raw material increases they imposed 10% on Brass and 20% on tungsten.

Our procurement cost for tungsten powder increased to US$110 per kilogram, last month was US$85/kg, in September was US$66/kg. The cost is increasing at a rapid pace! Additionally, our suppliers have indicated that tungsten powder prices may rise further to $150 per kilogram next month.

Due to this ongoing price instability, we can no longer offer fixed pricing for tungsten products. We kindly request that you inquire about the latest quotation prior to placing any future orders, and we will always provide a price based on the current procurement cost.

Daiichi who raised their prices 146% on 100 packs due to factory increases, Japan tariff's and eliminating my advantage of buying by the 1,000's  (multiples of 10 x 100pc) to the same price as if I just bought one only pack of 100

  4. Been a couple very busy weeks getting my new ice grubs done for the up coming ice season . Between all the river rat requests that keep coming in, I was able to finish the last lot of 7, and even did one batch of jigs .

These are 7/32 tungsten beads ( tungsten is getting pretty expensive these days ) but I still manage to keep my prices fisher people friendly.

Very pleased how they turned out . I have lots of misfit ones on the side lines, as I only produced the ones I was happy with . Nothing wrong with seconds, just not to my standards  to please the end buyer .

    Anyhoo

This is my end results .

  5. Was able to get out with my son and a buddy yesterday morning . Always good times . Started slow the 1st hour, but it got rocking .

Went 5 for 5 for a few hours of fishing . Kept the only 2 for this season to smoke and vac pack for ice season .

1st 2 were on a tandem set up . Cleardrift 6mm soft bead salmon embryo egg . Next 3 were on a pinky worm .

  6. Tis the season.

4 days on the tribs.  So many salmon this year . Trying to find holes without them is almost Impossible.  So,just fish below them 😆.

We sure need some rain though . Salmon are trapped in holes and sitting there with loose eggs in them .

Couple of my rewards this weekend . This morning I had a nice buck smoke a stone I tied up . A variation.

I recently reached out to Misfish to ask if he could put a small prize package together for my semi annual (Fall) get together in October.
They're all hardcore Steelheaders and I know that one lucky attendee is going to be blown away upon winning this assortment of high quality killer baits.
Many thanks for all of your considerations and generousity Brian as well as your expediency in delivering.

    Cheers Bud  :D

Thanks for reaching out Chris . Was honored you asked,as I am sure your fellow steelheaders are well seasoned anglers .

If I had time, there would of been some swing baits, but one never knows what might arrive in the mail wink wink .

    Thanks again

  8. My buddy Rob from Cleardrift,  sent me his new salmon embryo poured soft beads and I put my twist tie to them .

This IMO ,is the best alternative to keeping roe from fish that will produce many more fish to spawn and keep the future of fishing great . It took me some trial and error to get this tie workable without losing the eggs off the hook . I tested it last year pulling from snags and what not and seems to hold well . These  beads absorb scent as well .

My friends on the west coast are saying they are expecting a very good salmon run this year, record setting, into the millions. Especially pinks in the Fraser and other rivers.

They all look awesome as always Brian and there is no doubt in my mind that they will all be very productive but I especially like the red, black and white one, the reason being it comes close to color patterns I have tied in the past for trout out here in Alberta and for salmon in BC. It never let us down. We have also had great success with the green and black pattern for Chinook and Koho.

I'm sure your clients won't be disappointed.

Thank you so much for the kind words  Barry . I have about 10 guys that buy from me out there . It,s not many, but they trust me with what I do .  I am very excited to see some of those in yaps.

I have other news coming that will allow me to see first hand what the west coast is all about . That is for another day.

    Thank you again .

Oh ,that red / black woolie, is the Coho killer here . Have tied hundreds the past 3 years.

Well if they're munching Gobies that would likely explain it.

All the trout from Simcoe that I have caught this year were the same dark colour

I never did check for clippings/stocked fish . Possible it could be a different strain they are stocking ?

  12. Have not fished alot, but when I do,it,s more to test out my ties. My new high hooks have been killing it . Since I was very close to a deep drop off, I thought I would give a try for a white fish . Wasn't long before a fish came in and did a slow chase and hooked up . Thought it was a whitie as it was just swinging back and forth on the way up . Half way up, it was not to be . Big run back down . Laker. All good . Play it out,in the net, quick pic and back it went . Played with some pannies on the new high hooks . Working well .
