It should be on you tube Lou, it was a great show! Sight fishing for monster pike in back bays on the east side. I believe they camped on a island on the main lake but launched on the Onaman river. It's a long haul but I've heard the jackfish river where it dumps in the nipigon is as good as anywhere for walleye.

You should also consider lake Nipigon I'm sure bunk will have some great insight for you. From what I've heard it could be the best drive to lake in Canada. Check out the new fly Fisher episode with bunk, the pike were massive plus world class trout fishing

You shouldn't be burning out pumps that quick, if I were you I would be checking the outlet pipe. Does your pump come on quickly after a rain ? Does it run steady during a rain or in the wet months? Is your basement lower then your neighbours ? Are you in sand or clay? Maybe your in the water table? Your pump should keep up regardless unless your outlet is bad and your just recycling water or There is to much of a load on your outlet pipe with added trough water on the same pipe. It's not attractive but it works, have your sump outlet above grade then drain it straight down to the storm sewer pipe, if there's any resistance the pit water will still boil out from the top if the load is to great down lower. Sounds like a storm sewer pipe issue to me.

Guess it boils down to consumer power, I choose to shop local but I could do better, I refuse to use self checkouts and fast food kiosks because I think entry level jobs and jobs that subsidizes crappy pensions are important.... Toyota is Canada's largest producer for auto so I'm thinking tundra next time. 

After the 08 crash and GM restructured after bankruptcy they outsourced tons of work to countries like India and China to bring down the cost or increase the margins. At that time the average GM vehicle was costing 8-14k to produce, I'm sure it's increased since then but I would bet it hasn't inflated at the same rate as there sticker prices. So it begs the question, where is the profit going? Certainly not back into the communities that build and support these manufacturers.

Had a chance to talk with a well seasoned economist a few years back and I asked him what his fears were going forward in Ontario concerning the direction of the economy and he said Ontario has never had cheap taxes or a cheap work force but what we did have was cheap electricity and he feared the escalating power costs would kill existing manufacturing and potential new investments

You should do good, lower and upper twin are hit hard but are very prolific fisheries. Since the lower limits and slot size were introduced the lakes came back. Wababimiga is relatively untapped mostly because of poor access and a lack of walleye but the pike fishing is great. Check out fish on line or ganrac for stocking info on lakes like Robertson, you can kinda  gauge the sizes by the years stocked 3-4 years being prime. 16-20" trout in the rivers around there are not that common but I would think 16 would be easy on some of those stocked lakes.

Sweet fish Chris, working in New development I've seen the struggle for great grass quick first hand and unfortunately the best results are sod laid in mid to late fall. Cooler wet conditions help it take root then the dormancy of winter makes for a great lawn. Spring is ok too but it's been so dry and its probably a bit late for seed or sod with good results

Short notice but a smoking good deal! This is one of the top lakes in Ontario imo. It fishes great all season but this week would be prime time for numbers. 

Both are good quality units, goodmans are built in Texas and are quickly gaining a great reputation for quality and value. Not sure why the Goodman combo isn't subject to the rebate, if it's the me efficiency it should  be rebated as well

I would hire a guide for a day for a river like the Rupert, the river has changed drastically since the dam went in. I know some stretches that we're great are now mediocre, the tributaries are still great and I've heard sea trout can still be had at the mouth.

I live close to Chatham and have worked in the new divisions over the last 20 years. Over the years manufacturing suffered and for a good stretch of time building on spec didn't pay because the market wasn't strong enough for a return on investment. Today a new bungalow 1300sqft is 300-330k and rising, much like other parts of the province we are now seeing folk bidding up 10-20% over asking and this attributed to the influx of people moving in from the GTA. If I were you I would have a look at port lambton and sombra as well, there are some great affordable little places close to the water plus you have split the distance between Chatham and Sarnia with the bonus of the ferry to Michigan.

Drive or fly in outpost camps north of Nakina Ontario, fish for Pike, walleye, whitefish, perch and brook trout. Moose hunts also available. 5194010130

I agree with that, shoot him in the noodle and a quick 15 minute interrogation while he bleeds out. 

Believe it or not hydraulic oil I find penetrates better then anything if you have the time too let it soak in over a 12 hour period

I think onaman has access/outfitter protection restrictions so if you don't have a commercial cache or use a outfitter for access you could get a $1500 dollar fine. If you go too the ganrac website you can download maps with a restriction index for the entire nipigon area

Sadly he will probably never pay the fine because there is little recourse the bonus is he will never be back.

Sad reality is for every ten of these instances only one will get caught. Wonder how a non resident could justify taking that much from foreign waters like Canada some how owes it too him. Taking in the fact he had his own boat and fifth wheel means he probably didn't even spend more then two hundred bucks in tourist dollars. I wouldn't be to quick to blame it on mis management, take it from me it's extremely difficult to run a small business in these times in this province. The government always touts the importance of small business leading up too an election then rapes them after elected. It may be as simple as a huge order that didn't pay or someone sued because a timeline wasn't met, no matter the scenario you can bet no bank or no  government threw them a life line. 

That is unfortunate for sure, very talented art work and some great looking clothes. Hope you get your money back 

It never occurred to me that Atlantic's were being farmed on  the west coast, common sense would suggest that this practise could have severe impacts on all ready sensitive eco systems. Fish farming in general is already proven to be environmentally unfriendly without adding invasive species to the equation.

I only know of two people that have been there, Mike Borger and another guy that wanted I hunt there this  year that I couldn't accommodate because of a lack of tags. I can send you his number

I had a Audi a4 years ago, great little ride 4cylinder turbo vw motor. I loved the fact it was all stainless steel and aluminum , good on gas and had decent power. Then I bought a vw passat used again like the a4.. just like Chris Brock mentioned it too lived in the shop, 3 motors a tranny and other little annoyances. Now I'm back in north America, just have trucks, dodge and Ford. I'm happy 

I don't know how a municipal bi law can be enforced on Fed territory agreement or not. I would fight it too, sounds like a money grab designed to keep the cost of having bi law officers revenue neutral. It all boils down to my least favourite word "liability", I miss the days when a use at own risk sign was good enough.
