  1. sometimes to find a ground it will back feed thought the other light, so one will work and one will not or sometimes the second one will be really dim

so test, run a wire from ground on the truck to ground on the light that's not working you might need to sand the metal to get a good connection

    But Terry,

if the grouns is the problem, why do the running light and turn signal on the SAME LEFT side work fine?

    Gerrit,

my electrician friend spent 1 hour this afternnon with the volt meter in hand and couldn't figure it out....

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman

  2. Brown is tail lights. Green is right turn and stop. Yellow is left turn and stop.

Precisely Bernie....and since the left side is the problem one, the yellow wire is the one in question as it does turn and stop for the elft.

The strange thing is, the turn works fine(while using the SAME yellow wire), and both bulb elements inside the bulb work fine when turn signal or running lights are on.......just that for some reason pushing the brake pedal does NOT send electric signal to the bulb....the same bulb that works otherwise with turn signal and running lights, over the same Yellow wire that carries fine the turn signal but does not want to carry the brake signal..........drives me CREASYYYYYYYY!!!!

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman

  3. Well, if you are close to Lindsay and want to bring it over I can fix it for you.

Appreciate your kind offer Clif but I am in Georgetown.

May have to use the service of someone who knows those things very well though and is close to me as I don't know what else I can do to fix it....spent two days ask three other people.....nothing....

    :wallbash:

  4. Terry sure is correct on what color is what.

But now.....if it is ground problem....why would the right brake light working and the left does not?

And also....same bulb also serves as running light and turn signal - both those are working fine....so how come the same left ball works fine when turn signal and the running lights are on but doesn't work when I press the brake pedal?!?

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman

  5. I've discovered last night one(left) brake light on my trailer doesn't work. The right one is working fine. All the other lights - running, turn signal are working fine also. Bulb is fine, I've changed the right with the left bulb - same problem.

My trailer is from the US and has not 4 but 6 wires coming out of the plug - 3 to the right (green, brown, white) and three to the left (yellow, brown, white).

It seems the yellow wire on the left carries the turn signal AND (?!?) the brake signal.

My neighbor came look at it could not figure it out and he is playing with cars for hobby and know somewhat about wiring.

My other neighbor came, he is electrician, also could not figure it out.

It doesn't make much sense that one brake light is working and the other is not and the bulb is OK.

Can anyone come up with solution how to resolve this?

Don't want to replace all the wiring again. Just did it on my old boat trailer before selling it last year.

I'd like to avoid the exercise if I could.

    Thank you.

  6. Wow, Emil. A plan comes together, a beautiful thing. Congratulations!. That boat is a beauty.

Hope to buy you some gas on a big lake sometime soon. 1 week on Opeongo in 2 weeks, me. Hope that plan comes together too.

    Thanks Doug.

Lake O. - any time you are ready Bud. Just as I told you before.

Algonquin - well you'll be there few months ahead of me. Please tell those lakers there to get bigger fast as I'll be coming to see them again in August :Gonefishing:

Have a good time on in the park Doug. Love that Opeongo fishing/camping! :clapping:

  8. Well,

after a loooong preparation the boat was on the water today at 2pm and did perform great.

What a nice machine I've got, waooo... LOVE IT!!!

All components and aftermarket equipment worked great, motors were solid. Got 55Mph top speed, plained in about 3 seconds And the kicker didn't burn any gas for the few hours of trolling. Steering arm, fuel filter, all worked fine.

And guess what...I even got some fish ha ha ha...

The nice King was so impatient it didn't wait for me to put the rod in the rod holder after releasing my lead core and bammm fish on....

Later on the laker got hooked on the same rod/lure...

Here are few pictures of the action today:

    14 Lbs King.

  9. Did you try contacting the previous owner? - He may still have them.

    Don

BTW - Great looking boat there bud!!!

    :thumbsup_anim::Gonefishing::thumbsup_anim:

    Thanks Don!

The originall owner traded it in at a dealership and bought a pontoone then I bought the Lund from the dealer. I have the owners phone number on some of the paperwork but when calling it says "not in service". I am thinking though since there is no places to attach the windows on along the gun well and windshield maybe there were not any windows with the boat....

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman

  10. Pictures are not a problem Gerritt. I can send him as many as he needs. Does the guy know you? Should I mention your good name as refferal?

Any Lund dealer should be able to order you the matching parts.. should just need model and year.

Wayne, do you think this is orriginal Lund top? I folded it now but at the back of it inside a plastic bag there was some paperwork with name of the top manufacturer I thought. I forgot what the name was but somewhere in Florida I think and it didn't say Lund on the papers...?!?

By the way windows are not the only things missing from the previous owner - the front conversion deck (this is the small rectangular piece of wood in the front that holds the fron seat when you need to move it to the bow) isn also missing. I've already got quote on it from a Lund dealer near Buffalo....if Lund can sell me those windows maybe I can order them together....

BUT....I am thinking now....maybe there were not any windoes despite the fact the zippers are there....because there are no any of those round push on things attached to gun well where to attach the bottom part of the windows and likewise there are not any such attachment things along the edge of the windshield...so maybe the boat came originally as is and had the zippers put in place in case the owner ever decides to add the windows???

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman

  11. Thanks Guys.

Lookin spiffy bud! Now what did the previous owner do with the side windows and back curtain/cover? Are there zippers on the top for sides and back? If so he had covers for it.

Wayne, yes the zippers are all there - on the sides and also on the back. They are in like new condition. Have no idea where did the windows go but I got it without them... :wallbash: What would be good deal on installing side windows and then what would the back one add to the price?

IFM, I know he is not in the GTA.... but here in Hamilton.... I am sure Gunner might be able to take care of you for a fair price..

would not hurt to call for a price...??

    Special Touch

    Gunner - 905-385-3409

    Gerritt.

Appreciate the lead Gerritt, will call tomorrow to see what they can do and for how much as there is no much left in the bank after all the upgrades, but windows are kind of "a must have" especially when going up North this summer for 3 weeks with my son. Hope it is not super expensive...

  12. OK Guys,

After few months working on it since I bought it last November here is the boat ready to go...well almost ha ha ha :thumbsup_anim: I guess it is never completely ready but 99% it is there now.

Kicker installed with new fuel filter/water separator, extended battery cable to the front battery, steering arm, new VHF radio and antenna installed, cigarette lighter charging plug installed, two new MAG 10 HS riggers installed, new Bert's tracks, ratching rod holders and weight holders, all wiring, etc. Looks good and I like it...

I have question about the top - as you can see on the pictures it has front windows and cover for the walk through under the windshield but no side/back windows.

I've spoke to a local boat covers expert few months ago and he came saw the boat and suggested replacing EVERYTHING but the top hardware with new top with windoes everything....at that point I didn't want to spend that kind of money.

And I still don't./....but I'd like to put side and possibly back windown on my existing top....nothing wrong with the top, it may not be a new one but no tears, nothing....just want to build onto it and attache side windoes for sure and if price is right back one as well. Original Zippers are already there.

Does someone know a place withing GTA that can do this work and what should I expect as fair price....the less the better :thumbsup_anim: as funds are not limitless :clapping:

I hope the side windows be about $200 and maybe $200 more for the back one....is that in range?

Anyhow....here are the pictures so you can recognize me on the water this season and looking forward to your help on the windows question.

  13. Thanks Wayne.

    Appreciate the follow up.

I did find it in CT - the white small tube of the 5200.

In the meantime I've tested few holes by using the Premium Construction adhesive I've been using around the house for years with great success. The best thing about it is it is the right tan color.

I've used this same adhesive to glue my back yard gates posts 5 years ago and in -40 to +40 degrees summer and winter those posts have never moved a mm. So, anyhow...I've tested it on few holes on the boat and just checked on it today seems to be all dried and hard now and holes are filled up/ So I'll stick to it for now and finish all the rest of the holes I want to fill in.

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman

  14. Guys I am sure they work as they are brand new and after tons of research I found them to be very well regarded.

When bringing them up.......do you have to keep your finger on the down button, or you just touch it once and leave it, and the ball continue going up and auto stops at the water level?

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman

  15. I've promised pictures and they are coming....may even post some later today....

I've got them all assembled with the plastic link, clip is closed...all by the book.

And they go up (super fast) down not so fast but this is how it suppose to be....

But...it says they have to auto stop at water level....right now on my driveway not having any water (just snow;-) when I push the button up they fly up but don't seem to stop at all...it I keep my finger on the button the clip will hit the pulley...

Also I was thinking I should be able to push the button and leave it go do something else while the rigger brings the ball up....it seems my only goes up when I keep my finger on the button....take my finger off...and it stops....

So....would like to clear those small technical issues/....maybe I am not doing something right or I simply need WATER...lot of it too ;-))

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman

  16. ive never seen tan lots of white or black around thou,CTC for sure and theres a West Marine in Oakville right they may have tan, what are ya 5200 ing down thats awefull stuff

    Thanks Bud.

I know that West Marine store and am regular customer there :clapping::wallbash:

Previous owner has drilled few holes here and there probably trying to mount different stuff and then took them off so I'd like to plug all those holes and since my Lund is Tan color I'd like to use the same color.

    Well West Marine has it:

    http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/store...mp;classNum=318

and they have the Tan color too but only in the large size 10 Oz for $19.99

hmmmm.....those guys always make lots of money from me :wallbash:

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman

  17. Waooo that was fast reply. Thanks Wayne!

I was thinking of CT and didn't remember seeing it there....but then my CT store is very small and often lucks much choice...will check the Brampton one.

The brochure says they make it in tan color....is it the hot one that sells fast and this is why you think it'll be hard to find the color?

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman

  18. Just installed my two new Mag 10 HS riggers.

They look nice and retrieve very fast on tests done on my driveway :wallbash::Gonefishing:

But how exactly does the autostop at the water level works and can I test that option while on the driveway (short of building a small lake there;-)

I've read the manual but not very clear on those electrical details.

Maybe someone owns them (I know Wayne does) and have tested the same and know the answer.

    Thanks.

    Cheers,

    Ice Fisherman
