  1. Sure, Danbo has a valid statement, but it is just that. The purpose of this post was to inform us of the current events that WILL affect our waterways and, in turn, fisheries. A call to action unanswered with a moot point in my opinion.

We have the opportunity now to influence decisions that will affect our future. I do hope that this issue is considered seriously by members here and not dismissed with indifference. Opening up this legislation, without a balanced approach, can be devestating to generations to come.

  2. Thanks for the info.

A double-edged sword there. As you submit, the bad side is the affect this may have on our waterways, which I will not go into detail as you have done so elegantly. The good side is the opening for private investment into our crumbling infrastructure which, according to recent reports, is in dire need of a revamp. Contacting your respective MP is a great idea. Another good idea is garner the support of organizations (fishing clubs, environmental groups...if we can get along, lol) and become part of the collective process itself. I just hope that the right stakeholders are brought to the table and a balanced solution is realized.

  3. Hey Darren,

I stayed at Wolseley Lodges (I think thats was it :dunno: ) for a 4 day trip last year. If you aren't familiar, and especially with the weather we've been having this year, I would suggest looking into getting a guide for half a day. They know the habits of eye's in there better than anyone. There's alot of water up there and I remember someone saying that a major factor in their location is determined by the season, water temps and fronts passing through.

We did not have a GPS so no coordinates to PM ya on one spot that held eyes for us. Motor up the French from the Bay and just maybe a couple kms (estimate..around Dokis) before it opens into Nippissing is a single buoy in the middle of the river. A nice hole there to drop jig and minnow. Not too many buoy that way so it should be easy to spot.

Sorry if there are alot of :dunno: but as I said we did not have the appropraite gear to mark spots. Just site and memory. Hope it helps

  4. To add to busharts comments on safety gear: An anchor, floating rope and lifejackets to accomodate occupants.

I would also say having two short (5foot) ropes with clips on hand for easy tie up to the dock. Clips on each end of the ropes are a good idea so you can easily change what side of the dock you want to park it at, depending on the winds, depth and so forth.

    Otherwise I would add...

    GPS/sonar

    stereo with waterproof speakers

    rod holders

    downriggers

    swivel seats

    bikini models :whistling:

  5. I got one in clown as well. Used it on the French and Moon, not even a follow. Did some trolling with it, not a tap. Probably has seen maybe 10 hours and still looks new, hoping to get some teeth marks in there. Will have to try the shallow approach with the bait. Not a confidence bait by a long shot, looks cool though...but I would recomend sticking with the classic beleivers and suicks.
