why bother to know it? Buy Daiwa , Shinamo and enjoy it. It will be better if it is steeze or core or the like. It is actually CHEAP in real return!

If you are using shimano stradic, you can just forget about anything from walmart/CT.

When I paid $200 or more to get rid of 1oz from the reel/rod, I do not want to put one oz weigh on the handle to balance it ... e.g. Core100 just failed on balance with any 6'8 GLoomis or Zillion rod I have. I have to use 6'2" St.Croix to match it. Another example is, 6'8" GLoomis doesnot match any good reel but a cheap Pluenge(8.6oz!) can go with it. But if I try to move the balance point 3" ahead of my index finger, I found each combination is much easier to pass "balance test". It introduces to the same observation: Maybe balance test only applies to short rod? Or the balance test only applies to spinning rod?

With a spinning setup, I can use index finger spot to balance the rod/reel to find out if my reel is too light or too heavy. I found this rule doesnot apply to the baitcasting reel/rod? How can I test out if my reel is too heavy or too strong? Maybe my arm is tired out because of the reel/rod not matched to each other??

We should all keep the limit to let MNR learn it in the hard way that the change of the reg is a MUST.

When got skunk in the BOQ while it turned out awesome result for these pros, I realize even the unit: light year is too small to measure the gap from us to PRO. :wallbash:

Shore Fishing or boat fishing?

Three hard-working anglers landed less than 11 basses for two days in BOQ! Never fished that poor this year and wondering what's the result of the Quinte Tournament? If even pro fails to get the bite, maybe we do not suck that much.

If money is a concern, go Avid (Which I have 1 for sale If money is not a concern, cant go wrong with GLX or Steeze. But no matter what, Compre $125 is way too expensive. Adding ten dollars could be Avid or at least Crucial level. Anyway, never buy a rod that refuses to claim a life-time warranty.

Maybe I fished crankbait on semi-heavy cover too much? I believe ripping from the grass is the only way to trigger the bite ...

Lip of Bomber A Series (crankbait question) The price of Bomber is good but the lip of these crankbait fails. I bought some on the sale in Lebaron last year and 4 out of 6 has broken on lip. Square A's lip was off at the third casting. I love Bomber Fat A/Square A for its super floating and wobbling. Any one has a suggestion on the replacement? I am wondering if I have to spend 10~15 dollar's crankbait to get a stronger lip?

Avid? How much did you get it? I am dumping all my Avid on $140 ... one is brand new ... :D I think GLX or steeze is the final destiny...

BTW, 14' foot 15 HP with battery start, price $68 (It has included gas and tax already). Even BJ cannot beat this price, not to mention Plank Road.

Comparing the quality of the motor and the price, you will love wisperingpines. PlankRoad cottage's boat's motor is not good unless you have a very very strong arm

If you cannot get fish at Aug 16 in a full-weed lake, I suspect you are not around ontario ... Aug 16 fish acted the most active since mid of July. We landed 30+ bass and the fishing forum I visited often was overwhelmed with fishing Pics, reports and many anglers who started fishing last year were discussing about secret weapons that easily lands LM over limits... Aug 17 is a little slower but many boat still landed more than 20 ... The Aug 18 is crazy and fish starts biting topwater. Fish is crazy since last Friday when the day is hot and stable ... buzzbaits worked again...
