  1. They will just burn the boat probably been done already. The boat is to easy to identify. Motor on the otherhand will be a quick cash sale. You don't want to know how I know this but it involves two 20 ft Rangers with 225's.

We kept two brand new sponsored Rangers in our yard behind a locked fence and gate with an alarm. They were in and out with both boats in under five minutes. Was called by the police two days later as they found both boats and trailers burned to a crisp in an abandoned gravel pit. 6 months later police pull over suspicious pick up and trailer on the 400 north with a lot of rec equipment on it, Everything on it was stolen including both of the 225 mercs from the boats, Guy didn't get charged with anything other than possesion of stolen goods over 5k. Now it just so happens that he was wanted on a murder warrent so no one needs to worry for a bit as he's locked away for a while.

  3. It was only a matter of time before I got my slammer bam bam going. Well not really,as I suck when it comes to hard water lakers. LOL

But right off the hop,the arcade chase game was on. The X4 Elite was lighting up. Dead stick a slammer at 80 fow and jig a spoon at the bottom in 93 fow. Probly had 5 chases that didnt hook up in the first half hour. Even had one chase from 80 all the way up to 20 and didnt connect. Could,nt figure out the retreive speed they were looking to attack at. Also couldnt believe they by passed the spoon and zoomed right up to the slammer. The next chase I figured just wait til he was on it,then burn it up. That was the ticket. That laker was on a mission and slam bam bam,he smoked it.

Bringing up this fish was a battle for sure. When it was at the 50 mark, my handle went wonky. The screw had come loose on the other side. So keeping tension on the fish,I was able to get it tighen up and get the fish to the hole. He had him self wrapped around the line a couple of times,so it was pretty intense trying to get him free of the wrap line and not lose him. It worked out for me. Get the head in the 24 inch thick ice hole and there was no where for him to go but out. After this one there were another 5-7 chases, but they just turned down.

    What a blast.

    27."5 long.

Nice second photo but it needs a banana for scale.

  4. My experience on Temagami was back in the day when Temagami Lodge use to run huts. Our hut would be in deep water @80 feet but we would drill holes outside up to about 25 ft of water. Temagami was good and our biggest fish came from there but the action was always better on Cross or Kokoko

  5. Im up and ready to head up again. Wonder if the bait store will be open. :whistling:

Paul, when I walk off any of the path,I was stomping through a foot of snow and tripping over harden slush.

Lets see if my guide today, can get me a fish or two.

Huronia Bait and Tackle in Fesserton right off the 400 is always open they will open up for you if they are not. Thats where we get bait on the way up

  6. Take emeralds, right off bottom, dead stick. Sit back and enjoy.

Yup I catch way more fish on Joe wth my mooching reel dead stick set up than on lures. I jig just to keep busy and to rest from all the walking either through powder or slush. We go in at the CNIB and it a bit of a haul. Parry Sound is more like Simcoe.

  7. Achray on the east side of the park is a truly beautiful campground and very close to the Barron Canyon which is pretty spectacular. But there's no electricty.

Personally I would never camp at any of the busy campgrounds along the hwy 60 corridor, no way you're going to have a true Algonquin experience. You'd be better off finding another park that's perhaps a little quieter if electricity is that important.

I'd recommend Restoulle as a great option with electricity.

Mike is 100 % correct on this, Algonquin for car camping would not be a good expererience for the park. I would go to Restole to car camp over Algonquin any day. Now backcountry is a whole different ball game.

  8. lots of good advice, thanks for sure. i plan on bringing a canoe so good call on tieing off the boat...esp if windy at night. Kuha...that was one i never saw when i googled houseboat. that might work....a smallish lake without a lot of other boats, and the fishing looks like it'll keep the wife and daughter busy so they wont be yapping and complaining, lol.

BIsco is anything but small although boat traffic won't be a lot.

  9. Hi all. I wouldn't mind some info on Fairy lake if possible. The family and I are headed to Huntsville Feb 20-22nd. On Saturday we are going to Arrowhead park to do some skating, tubing ect ect. The 2 other families wont be meeting us until around 2pm Saturday afternoon. So, we are planing on being there Friday around noon. My darling wife :thumbsup_anim: , suggested heading up on Friday, so I can fish a little Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday morning :worthy: . Its not going to be a big fishing trip. Im only packing my suit, auger. 2 rods, my ( fits in the pocket ) tackle box and minnow bucket. What can I expect to catch and where to start? If anybody is in the area and wants to hook up, all the better. Feel free to p.m me. I really don't catch and keep anyway. Unless its not going to survive. and staying in a hotel room, I don't really want to clean fish :) .

    Colin

The little lake in the park(Arrowhead)k gets stocked with brook trout yu could give that a try.
