I just fish Presque Isle bay down to North East Marina in Pennsylvania. I haven't fished other area's of the Lake. I appreciate the offer tho. This is the second time I took my girlfriend there and look what she does. If you can look back in my post from last year she caught another monster. beginners luck i guess.

Avid reader of the topics here; just nothing to add most of the time. Wanted to share some of pics of our fishing trip yesterday. Also wanted to brag to Marty who reads these posts. My girlfriend out fishes Marty! Coming to Canada in June and looking forward to catching some similar fish up there. Always have a great time in Canada. Mike

Nice Largemouth! We caught a few of them but not that fat. That tail did not break off of that smallie cuz it would have been in my boat and that fish never hit the ground.

great pics and report. I fished there about 7 years ago and it was good to see pics of the lake again.

I don't know what happened to it, I had to look at it after you mentioned it because I didn't see that before. I thought the tail was bent from the fish wiggling while she held it but it does look damaged. I am leaving her home next time.

That fish was bleeding from the lip, it was caught on a sonar (blade bait) and it must have cut it. It was fine though, we release all of the fish and that 1 swam away to be caught again by someone else.

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's out there. Slow 2 days in the water but this was the best fish of the days.

Lake Erie technique is pretty simple. She was jigging or dragging a 3" dark green Tube bait with a 1/4 ounce led head inside the tube (we call them Gitzits) on the bottom of the lake. We were drifting from 22 feet deep up into about 9 feet deep when that big smb hit. Not sure what tubes are available in Canada but the ones that have the most success in Pennsylvania in my opinion is called an M200. Hope that answered your question.

I fished Lady Evelyn lake 2 years ago and booked my trip the week before smallmouth opened and couldn't fish for them. It was my fault for not paying attention to detail! Thanks for the replies. Hope you all have a great season too.

Thank you for the compliment. I am not rubbing it in though! I am just proud of the fish she caught. I am sharing this information with all of you since you all have helped me many times before when I had questions about fishing in Canada. If anybody wanted to fish this part of Lake Erie let me know and I might be able to give you some information that would be helpful. It is only 2 hours from Buffalo, NY.

Had a great weekend in Presque Isle Bay Erie, Pa. Caught 40 bass with the biggest being 22 inches. Took my girlfriend fishing who never really fished before and she didn't want to stop fishing. If you have never fished Lake Erie in Pennsylvania, you should definetely consider stopping there for a weekend. You will not be disappointed. I am always happy when you take a novice person fishing and put them on fish. It is so much better to see them catching them and having a blast.

I am once again looking for a place to fish this year and you guys have always helped me with your responses. Does anybody know how the fishing is on Tube Lake into Marion Lake, Kecil Lake and Lang Lake. The resort is waterfalls lodge and just looking for a good place to take a family. Thanks for your help!

The motor worked fine.... You had to put in gear after you started it. I got a boat for sale that would look great in your driveway! Nice photo's and your "story" has made me and the kids sleepy. You should have been a writer. Call Lenny and see what the deal is on that motor if you haven't already.

Make sure the fetzer valves are greased well with 220 or 230 whatever it takes. Always keep a roll of duct tape on the boat! Congrats on a new boat

I have been checking out sportsman lodge sportsman lodge and anglers kingdom anglers for my next years trip. I want sportsman but they do not cook meals anymore so I was thinking about angler's kingdom instead. Has anyone ever fished that Nungesser lake? I know that Sportsman Lodge is where those monster pike were caught by Mepps and Jon but I don't want to haul food plus cook when I have my son going with me. I'll never get to fish if that happens. Any suggestions on how the hell I get there from Pittsburgh besides driving all of the way. Should I fly into Winnipeg or international falls? Rent a car at one of those airports, or connect to Red Lake? Sorry about all of the questions, I just have no idea about that part of Canada and was looking for some advice, hints, or do's and don'ts. Thanks for any help.

No I think it was just a bad few days of weather. I talked to the staff and they said that it is not usually this bad but they have said that it has been worse a day here and there. I saw other canoes on the shore next to some cabins and there is a bay called "Bettie's Hole" ( don't know why they named it that and really don't want to know) but that is strictly for canoes no motors allowed.

Lol Marty..... no blind squirrell theory. Just a great guide who knows how to put his kid on fish! I know they weren't 50+ inch musky but those fish will do until he gets a little more experience. The shore lunch was near Franks Falls. We didn't make it down to Diamond Lake or Diamond Chutes???? I explored a lot of water but couldn't see everything in one week. There were a lot of nice shore lunch spots to stop and relax at. This one we picked had a bunch of snakes laying around for the kids to check out but they didn't bother us. We caught the majority of the Walleye near Preacher's Point and Baggot's Bay. Preacher's has a nice sandy shoal with a lot of humps that go from 12 feet to 6 feet deep and around 8:30 p.m. they were in that 6 foot deep area. I forgot about my trip already and have been showing everyone those Pike that Mepps caught at Sportsman Lodge on Little Vermillion Lake. Jeez, I gotta go there next year.

Thanks for the reply's but after I read that post from Mepps on their trip to the Sportsman lodge and saw those pike pictures, I am deleting my fish pictures. Makes our fish pictures look like bait. It was awesome for me since it was our first trip to Canada together and to see him catch those fish, I was a proud dad on Father's day to say the least. Just a few more pics that I have to share.

Thanks....I am a Rush fan but that is not my reason for the screen name. I saw Rush a few years ago and they are also playing tomorrow in Pittsburgh where I am from. Can't go see them though.
