  1. I agree. Anyone from the MNR post here?
  2. We've been catching lots in this area with Spoons and Body Baits. Downrigging for Salmon Mostly. Here's a link with Pictures and Specific lures. http://www.bluewaterbridge.com/viewtopic.php?t=118 I'm not sure where you are or how these techniques will work for you, but hopefully this will give some ideas.
  3. If they did disappear due to over harvest, maybe that would make them a good species to try to bring back. Any thoughts?
  4. The trick I use (for all fish) is rub your hands on stainless steel while the water is running. Cabelas (and others) sell a stainless steel bar of soap that does the same thing. Not sure the scientific process, but it works.
  5. Just wondering if anyone has seen, caught or heard any stories about paddlefish in the great lakes. I have heard they are extinct in the Great Lakes, but maybe someone here knows different. Or maybe you've heard a story from your Father or Grandfather about them. And is there any effort being made to bring them back to the Great Lakes?
  6. I've got a 120lb Yellow Lab who does it for me.
  7. Sarnia Bay was the Location (PM me for details). And I think they taste like a cross between bluegill and crappie.
  8. We were skunked on the walleye last night, so we switched to rock bass fishing and ended the night with 14lbs 4oz of the tastey spring rockies.
  9. http://www.mfilms.com/index.php?section=pr..._dis&id=142 This will get you the DVD's (great show btw)
  10. Huh, I thought there was a different boat there. Too many Early mornings and very late night i guess. Did I let you in the Marina this morning?
  11. Fun stuff, did you move to a different slip this year?
  12. Limits of Walleye being taken on St. Clair River. Whipping and Jigging, PM for specfic details if interested.
  13. Wonder how many of the 50k were battered and fried that night........

  15. Nice Pics!!
  16. neat stuff, are you adding any scent with these?
  17. Judging by the Compound bows in the 1st picture, I'd say they got the "shot" part done.
  18. That's the post that sparked this question. Interesting eh?
  19. I wasn't looking for support in keeping anything. Just a hypothetical question about personal ethics.
  20. This is a hypothetical question. What would you do. Lets say you are out fishing for Blue Gills or Perch using minnows. And you hook into something big, a pre-spawn largemouth, a female maybe 4 lbs. You know bass is out of season for another 2 1/2 months. So your going to let her go. But when you get her to the boat you see she had swallowed your minnow and during the fight to bring her in the stomach lining tore and she is bleeding profusely. Your experience tells you this fish isn't going to live. What do you do. 1. Do you let her go and figure the seagulls will get a good meal. 2. Do you throw her in the cooler, and say it's better to keep an out of season fish, then to let good meat go to waste. 3. Something else.....
  21. Would like to hear any reports on Salmon/Trout for Southern Lake Huron, Grand Bend to Goderich Area. Thanks in Advance,
  22. Well you've convinced my to try the Bullheads with that perch comment. I know a place to catch them by the barrel full. Will report back on taste.
  23. I've eaten my far share of silver bass and channel cats from the St. Clair river and they're quite eatable. I've been told that if you soak sheephead fillets in brine over night, then boil them they are quite good.
