  1. Good trucks, only problem being they like to drink gas by the bucketfull. If you really need one to tow or to haul people around, go for it, if not, get something smaller, your pocketbook will thank you. I kicked the idea around 4 years ago and settled on a minivan, no regrets, 6 people no problem, 7 in a pinch, lots of space and it tows my boat (19ft fish'n'ski i/o).

  2. Opinions are like asses, everyone has one. It does not matter what outboard brand you look at, there will always be someone who had a lemon, it's the chance you take, that is what warranties are for. E-tec is technology that has been around for a couple of years now and they will have worked many of the bugs out. I'd think about it if I was in the market for an outboard, they are a lot lighter than a comparable 4stroke (although they too have shed quite a few pounds) and are very fuel efficient. Any engine run at full throttle is going to burn lots of fuel, the question is, how much does it burn at cruise??

  3. It sucks but at least your dealer is taking responsibility for the motor not running correctly. I had an issue with the carb on my I/O and when the season was done last year, my dealer rebuilt the carb and tuned up the motor for me no questions asked, and no quibbling. You'll be good to go for next year. The boat looks great but it's too clean and new looking, it needs some fish slime.

  4. I call Bull!!! The bullet is not deformed at all, you could not see if the rifling marks were on the bullet, with a Glock, the bullet would have some deep rifling marks on the sides. Hitting ice would really crush that slug so I do not believe!!

  5. It's a lot different now that you want to hunt turkey, get yourself a decent 3" 12ga pump action and for grouse, either a 410 or a 20ga. You will need 2 guns. A 12ga for grouse will end up making a mess of them. Guns are like fishing rods, there is a different one for each application. My dad always harped on me about how many golf clubs I had, I told him you need 14 to play and a few different ones to switch in/out of the bag for different courses and techniques, he never did understand that...

  6. I joined a couple years back and have met a bunch of people who enjoy fishing as much as I do. For the majority of the time the discussions are great and as with every barrel, there can be a bad apple or two. They get picked out and we go on. I've met a few of the folks on here over the years and they are good people. Yes some topics go off on a tangent and have nothing to do with fishing but we are a community talking to each other about what is going on in our lives. That is what friends do.

    Long live OFC!
