  1. I'm right handed, I throw with my right, cast with my right, reel with my left, spinning or baitcaster (pretty new to this). For fun I'm buying a fly set up too which will be the same, cast right, reel left ..... otherwise I'll be even more confused.

  2. Thanks for posting this. I had no idea that there was no registry. So anyone with a good printer and some "skills" could make his own? Isn't that like schools giving tests but have no way to assign the results to each student? Why bother? How do you try to accumulate all the results (from out of business card issuers) into a registry later? Seems like more government logic :wallbash: . Did they think it would be cheaper to organize later?

  3. Stoty your comment "well there arent many more than 50 in the league, lol" shows your math skills are only equalled by your hockey insight. There are thirty teams, that gives every team less than two..... hmmm??? Don't most teams have three pairs of defensemen?? Don't get me wrong I'm not saying he's Bobby Orr or Ray Bourque. Heck I'm not even saying he's as good as Kaberle (IMO the best Leaf defensemen and one of the best Leafs overall). What I am saying is that there are only approx. 500 guys in the whole world that are good enough to consistently play in the NHL and appox. 150 or so are defensemen . Now count how many of them have played for the last 13 years. How many have over 400 points in the league? The group gets smaller. Now what defensemen have finished the three years previous to this with at least 53,68 and 57 points (many on the PP). The list gets smaller again. Give the guy some credit. I met a guy (friend of a friend) that plays AHL with the same dream as all AHL'ers, to be an NHL'er. For years this guy has been at the rink before and after everyone else all so he could make it. Well he finally did, for one game so far. He's one of the few people in the world that can actually say that when he walks in a room. I'm curious what you'd all have to say about him???

  4. Anyone who likes McMoron must have rocks in their head.

    Unless of course you like:

    1) Scoring goals on you own net

    2) Taking multiple stupid penalties pretty much every game

    3) Couldn't beat it out of his own underwear

    4) Makes $5+ million and gets like 20 points.

    5) Shakes his head every time he gets a penalty. (even if he shoots the puck over the glass AFTER the other team scores a goal).

Hopefully he is a better golfer than he is a hockey player.

Man, I wonder what Stoty is thinking? Hmmm, subtle. He sure beats around the bush. Not very opinionated is he? Let's keep with that theme. Stoty, McCabe is one of the few hundred guys that are good enough to make it to the NHL. He's one of the top 50 defenseman in the league and I think he hasn't fully recovered from his hand surgery He's hardly been shooting the puck and regardless of anything else you say the guy has a rocket of a shot.. A true test will be how he does next year (wherever he is). I'll agree he does make some ....... let's say "unwise decisions" with the puck and gives me an outright heart attack sometimes, he's also one of the guys in a playoff game (if they ever make the playoffs again waaa, waaah :( ) that'll block a shot with his face, play forty minutes, quarterback the powerplay and be on the ice killing all the penalties. If he gets upset and has his little fits I can live with that .... that means he gives a crap. As far as him making five million, okay he's probably overpaid but all the decent scoring defenseman are. They are in short supply. If you were in his position, would you ask for less? It's not like the Leafs can't afford him. I hate any player having a no trade clause (each team should be allowed only one franchse player like in football) and he excercised it. Now I'm kind of mad about that, I'm more mad at the team for being stupid enough to give anyone a no-trade, not him for wanting to have a stable life for himself and his family. Now as far as can't beat the you know what out of his underwear (your quote), I'm sure the Leafs don't want him fighting anyway, but you should put on a set of skates and try him out. He's only 6'3. 225 lbs and ripped (he plays over half of all 84 games during season usually). I'm sure you could do much better out there. :wallbash: .I'll even buy tickets for that one. I'm not saying he's perfect and he definetely makes me cringe sometimes (and go DOH!!), but give the guy his due. He's one of the best in the world and most of the time has played pretty well for the beautiful blue and white. I'm sure he hasn't fully recovered from his hand surgery, whether it's strength or just confidence who knows? If he's back next year I bet he plays better, starts shooting the puck alot more and pops in another fifteen or twenty goals.

  6. best way to not cause a stink = dont post reports. i've been flamed all day by "real steelheaders" who are clearly way better and way cooler than me, because they dont post pictures. And apparently floatfishing.net is so much better, yet they still feel the need to lurk and bash.

floatfisher, stealheader are way too cool for school.

MODS, close this thread please, I'm done with this sh!t

Just keep posting. If you stop posting they win. That's what they want by the sounds of it. By the way, posts like yours make me want to learn to flyfish (rod on the way). Posts like theirs make me not want to admit it. Steelheading need not be an elitist sport. We're all just catching fish here, aren't we?? What's with all the politics? Just ignore the crap Steve and post for those who appreciate your efforts and talent. Glad you're on my team bud.

  7. My condolences to you and your family. That is too young to go. It sounds like he had fun in his life, with the four wheeling, fishing and it looks like camping too. Hopefully you can take some comfort knowing that the life he had, no matter how short, was a good one.

  8. If I were you I'd check the classifieds here. Mark Kulik just put a bunch of goodies for sale a couple days ago. You could probably get a really nice combo for $150 if you grab a rod and reel used from there. I just looked and there is a lefty Curado that smallifisher has for sale for $90. If you're a lefty I'd grab that! If not keep you're eye on it,some good deals go through there on a regular basis.

  9. yeah, but

the lake access spots where there long before houses where there..just cottages where all around the lake...I hate it when people move into an area that has lake access or a smelly factory, knowing they are there then complains about the people using the lake access or complain about the smell of the factory...........

Yeah, that sucks. I can relate. The people of Sparta Ontario almost shut down their dragstrip(St. Thomas Dragway). The track has been there for at least forty or fifty years and as newbies built homes in and around the track they complained about noise etc. :wallbash: DUH!! . It's one thing if a new track was trying to go in and residents didn't want it. I can understand that. But to build somewhere where there is a pre-existing track and then whine seems ridiculous. The whiners almost won,but the track made concessions and doesn't open until noon. Maybe the cottagers will win in all of Ontario and we'll have to pay them to get on the lake and fish only after noon. I'm sure the incoming cash influx from accesibility to the lake in varous areas well overrides the cost to the township to clean it up, but that's a very hard to prove. Someone has to step in and lock up any pre-existing access points, parkland etc. before one by one we are all shut out them permanently. This all goes back to whose water this is. It should all be accessible to every resident of Canada. How will we ever care about our greatest and most valuable treasures, our natural resources, if we have no access to them?

  10. I like Stren for it's castability. It seems to have very little memory where some others (XT) tend to spring off the spool. As far as more expensive line Powerpro braid gets the nod from me too. Just thought I'd mention that my buddy tried Vanish and a week later it kept breaking over and over. Maybe we just got a bad batch or something, but I've never seen suuch a brittle weak line.
