  1. I am now living on a private lake in southern ontario... I have been fishing it for about four years and in the first two years landing nice jumbo perch was not a problem. But in the past two years i have yet to land a fish on the ice. I am fishing the same area but not fish even the same lures. The lake is about 35 ft deep in the middle and along most of the shoreline there are steep drop offs from 2-5ft down to 10-15 then the lake basin at 35ft. The only place i have yet to fish is out in the deep water is this where the fish are holding? ct

  5. Me and my father own a private lake. Its already totally covered over but only with about 2 inches i tested it yesturday. I am just hopping that this warm front dosen't destroy what is already frozen.. I cant wait to get out and hunt for some big jumbo perch. Does anyone know about the haliburton area lakes? They must be getting close to having safe ice.. CT
  6. I have the same reel. I use it on my Ul for creekfishing and tubes for smallmouth & of course for ice fishing. I have had less trouble with it than i have with real ice fishing reels most of them get real stiff and hard to turn but no problems with this reel. I think its your best bang for your buck.. Ct
  7. Hi Guys I was just wondering if anyone could give me some tips on fishing crappies in Rice lake. I will probably be launching out of Harwood on the south east end of the lake. I was thinking there maybe some failsafe spots or area's on the lake that always hold these fish or a certain type of area i should be looking for when fishing them... I have a sellection of minature crannkbats an tubes and jigs. ect.. So i think i am good for baits i just dont know what to look for when it comes to the prime crappie locations.. Thanks! Curtis
