  1. 33 fish was the combined total after 10 hours on the water.

I ask about technique as I spent all day twitching, dragging, popin' and it all seemed to work....( was it just my luck that day)

One fish hooked itself when I was eating a sandwich with the rod just dangling off the side of the boat, the tube was a foot underwater inches away from the boat.

  2. Lest few week I had a chance to hit Erie and Simcoe in search of some bronze.

This was one of the my first times using tubes. They would not hit the green but he champagne produced quite well. My friend threw the tackle box at them but I still managed to outfish him 5:1. Nothing as spectacular as the stuff you guys post but still a great day of fishing for me with 33 SM/LM landed.

Back to the tubes; how do you fish them? is there a wrong way? what type of set up have you found works well for you.

    thanx for the advice

  3. After reading this I went into the kitchen and made 3 ice cubes

    1. water + sugar

    2. water + salt

    3. just water

after 24 hours I took out the tray and started my timer.

first to melt was water + salt at 45min

water and sugar took 1 hour to melt

after 1 hour and 15 min the ice cube with just water still had a little pebble of ice floating around in it.

conclusion: Beer is cold enough with simple ice and it will be cold longer then with other ice mixtures.

  4. making the parts would be the easy task.

finishing it to make it look that nice will triple the price.

hours upon hours of de-burring, polishing, plating/anodizing/masking installation. .........only to find out that some tolerances are out by a few microns.:wallbash:

does that not look like a car rim?

  5. Got a great offer to spend this weekend at a cottage on the island.

Although I think she is just using me for a ride to the island I'm determined to come back smelling of fish one way or the other!

I understand the landscape but the couch is new to me. Any pointers?

  6. Great livewell net, for about 200 perch bud.

I just had a stroke of genius

I can make a floating perch bag out of my old net.

All I'll need is a foam pool snake!

  7. I'll preface this by saying that I've never owned a new boat motor.

I ran track and supermoto bikes, owned several new 2 and 4 stroke motorcycles.

In 2 strokes you want a few heat cycles to seat the rings

On the other hand seating the valves is what became critical with the 4 strokes. In many jap bikes you have Ti valves slapping Al ports. I had 1 major blow up on a yz450. 1 of the 5 valves shattered on one of the first times out.

Take it easy the fist few times, go for long rides and swap out any fluids just to be safe. If nothing weird comes out with the oil you can start having some fun.
