Try this one.

You better go rent a hut located around Georgian Island. Good hut operators place you on fish, like Hanks, Dave's, Steve's, Time Hales, etc.
Fish are less spooky. Tip-up plus minnow work well.
-
Nice catch.
The background seems familar, that yellow hut...

I own Lund Alaskan 1600 Tiller, which is great fishing boat on med/small lakes. This type of boat is not wide but speed is good.
You can also consider G3 boat. It's similar as lund but price is good.

Thx for the report.
Just wonder if you caught lakers on bottom or off the bottom say 10 ft up?
-
I was on K bay today. Fish was aggressive this morning.
I myself landed 3 whities, and lost a couple in the hole. Landed a few lakers too.
-
If it's aluminum lund, its total weight should be under 2500 pd.
-
Thanx for sharing.
This was a good outing.

When winterizing a 4 stroke outboard, I add fuel stabilizer into gas tank, but don't run the engine. Will it cause any problem?
-
5 HP Honda should be good enough.
If main motor is 4 stroke, you may not need kicker.
-
Very nice ski. I will say it's about 34 pd.

Simply troll big lures in deep water of Gannow Narrow. There should be a few big ones around there
However I would rather wait until weather becomes cold. This weekend seems humid.

It's OK if you have such tools like big net, cradle, hook cutter, etc.
Try not to leave muskie out of water.

Weather is good.
Only fished 2 spots (enough). The second spot is actually my perch and bass zone, because I wanna get some meat for dinner.
To surprise me, this time we caught most bass around there.
Caught alot of perch, plus some nice bass (released). After 2 pm, bass suddently stop biting. Guess we relased too much, lol. Called a day.
Landed about 20 smallies/2 anglers. The biggest one is probably over 5 pd, a few 3~4 pounders, and the rest are 2~2.5 pd.
Keep some good size perch (11~13 inches) for dinner.
Great opener.

Simcoe for sure.
Wanna see how fat these smallies are.
-
Comparing with your previous Lund boat, how do you prefer this one?
-
Great lake (Lake Erie, Simoce, Lake O) Smallie fishing is challenge but definitely fun to me.

Contact yamaha dealer about engine oil. It should be full Synthetic SAE 10-30W.
I see such platinum 10-30W oil is on sale in one Canadian Tires.
-
What engine oil for 4 stroke yamaha 200 HP? SAE-10-30W or 10-40W?
Plan to change it by next weekend before Simcoe whitefish season opens.
6 liters enough?

I used to own an old model 115 HP Merc. Prop should be about 12.5 ~ 13 diameter, and 19~ 23 P.
Don't use over 23 P prop.
Higher pitch, lower RPM.

I own lund boat, but I think Princecraft quality is even better.
Lund is top of line, no doubt about it. It has better re-sale market.
-
Price of that used Alaskan seems good.
The outboard is Yamaha 4 stroke (all the way).
You also have to consider that Wetlands Camo color costs you extra $1500+.
Hunters know it.

A couple of yr ago I put my 17 ft boat in a trailer park in mid of Pigeon Lake. The slip price is about $400 plus $100 for winter.

Great tips. Thankx Roy.
By the way I do have a boat cover but I don't think it's completely waterproof.
Anyone using Trollmaster

Anyone has expereince on using Digital Trollmaster control?
I have one installed on my boat, but dont know if it's in function.
Last time I was on Simcoe. Seems it couldn't change speed no matter I turn into maximum or minimum.
