Quick little update, I bought the boat…now just working out the details of importing it.

seller is going to probably bring it over the border to customs on the canada side for me and I will simply meet him there and report it for importation.

Just know that it is not possible to buy a US boat that is already in Canada. Meeting at customs should(?) be ok but certainly worth a call first.

Who else remembers the days when you'd pull the tubes out of the back of the TV when it stopped working and take them down to the tube tester machine at the drugstore. Plug the tubes into the machine and it would indicate it when it found the bad one.

I remember vividly back in the 50's when it was just a normal thing to do that and I'd always accompany Dad when we went to the drugstore to test them.

Yup, the good ole days weren't always so good   LOL 😁

Isn't that the truth! I remember thinking we were soooo high tech when we got the power rotary antennae on the house! Change the channel = spin the dial! haha

The people of the maritimes have also done well because they recognize that the health of one affects the health of all. They tend to respect and care for each other far more than the people of Ontario do. That being said the federal government allowed flights into Pearson from all over the world because they didn't want to offend anyone 🙄. The vaccine rollout is another nightmare altogether

The new double mutant Covid variant is in BC...they can now halts flights coming in. :wallbash:

Well it definitely won't be on a fishing website.

Fisherman isn't all that wrong here. If I was thinking of going to the US fishing again this spring (Chautauqua), I would not be relying on a US side fishing forum to tell me what to expect as a Canadian crossing the border. How the heck would they know??

Check out Canada Border Services Agency(CBSA) Here's the link...  CSBA

The border wait times at the Queenston Lewiston bridge are between 10 minutes and 5 months LOL

To save a lot of issues just remember the old saying

    You can't fix stupid

Typically we have major issues in the end of Spring and end of Summer when people put their crafts in or out for the year. After a few times of being verbally abused after offering to help I just sit back and enjoy the show. Last fall I felt bad for the wife as she was taking a lot of verbal abuse from the dumbass who had a lot of anger and no brains.

Again, "You can't fix stupid "

I disagree. The far majority of issues are from people that don't know better so calling them stupid is unfair.

We have almost useless boating card system that could to be expanded to include boat launch etiquette. Yelling abuses at people is not education.

  6. I'm with Bill...drives my mad when people are messing around on the ramp. I was waiting to get out at Crystal Beach's double ramp once and the two boats were taking forever. I tied up on the backside of the dock, hopped in the truck and split the difference between them. I was out before either one but even by self, I can load or unload my Ranger in seconds.

It would be great cliff but the roof is complicated with lots of valleys . . .

They are using 90 + bundles now! Thanks but this will be my last roof.

Just an observation but a few years ago(10-13?) my neighbour put on a new roof and chose 25 year shingles because "It was her last roof" she had to do. Well they're coming to reshingle this spring. Bottom line, take the advertised year length and divide it by two. Not the first time I've heard of this. jmho

Here's a Boeing 737 landing on a frozen lake in NWT. It's actually pretty common, it's how they get heavy equipment that's too big for a float plane into those remote northern fly-in camps. Just wait for the lake to freeze, then load up a 737 and give 'er.

That said, it's landing on five or six feet of solid ice. I don't think I would try this on Simcoe right now either.

All I can picture is me sitting on a lake jigging and thinking how convenient that someone plowed a nice big path. Hey what’s that noise????
