Hi everyone need some help ..

Dad's turning 60 we are thinking of getting him a new rod and reel.

For a couple years he has talked about fly fishing. I would like to get him a decent set up rod, reel, line and a couple flies. This way he all set up . I do not believe he knows much about fly fishing, he does enjoy using a spin cast on creeks and river so this will be a new adventure.

The thing is I have no clue what to get, were to get it, or what he needs.

Any ideas what a decent set up would be and were to get one? Anything I should look into ?. Anything I need that I am not thinking of ?

I live in Bruce county but travel to London often, also could get something shipped

Venza was 3500

I would not use the CRV

The last and most important thing is service whatever machine you buy make sure you can get good local service. Ask to see their service department, is it clean, well stocked. Then Google them and see if there are any customer reviews. GREAT POINT Cliff

Get what you like maintain it and you will be fine .. I wanted a two up rider looked at pol/can/cat. yem/hon does not make a two up rider, Decided to go with the cat been happy so far.

We just got the arctic cat 550 so far i love it.. We were only looking at the two-up riders so i could only pick from Polaris Can and Cat for me hands down the cat seemend better time will tell

Did not go with the carb however did like the thought of starting it if the battery was dead

BTW your 8HP Honda should run problem free for a long time in maintained.

Just wondering if anyone knows someone/dealer who works on honda outboards in the London to Owen Sound area ?

Would like to find someone i can trust..

Would like for them to go over the engine,give it a tune up and see how strong the compression is. If the eng checks out i want to look into purchasing a controll king or troll master for it. With the engine being older (mid 90`s) i would hate to put on a controller, if the eng is on its way out. So far for two years the eng has ran great just one fuel issue.

This year i only used the shell v power..

All i know is this year my eng never stalled out .

It used to stall out when at low idle like when waitiing for the launch to clear.. It seemed to run a lot smother with the shell premium..

I see it the same was as the warranty you get on a new set of Shingles for your roof.

If your shingles have ever see rain - VOID

If your shingles have ever been hot - VOID

If your shingles have ever been cold - VOID

If the wind has ever blown hard on your shingles - VOID

If your shingles are in stagnant air - VOID

If you have ever looked at your shingles the wrong way - VOID

If you installed your shingles - VOID

 

I realize I am exadurating a little bit

 

But I can definiatally see adding a jackplate will void the warranty on your boat and motor in SOME situations, but not all, which seems to be what Lund is also saying.
