  1. Hey guys, Ive got a buddie from out west who wont leave me alone untill i find him some smallmouth buffalo. Do we even have these in southern Ontario? Damb thing looks so much like a carp I cant recall if ive hooked them and assumed it was a carp from the power plant. I just want to know if there are any here

    Thanks.

  2. Well I tried Aikman and he told me the same thing Quantum did. YOUR OUTTA LUCK. Damb thing is only 3 years old and parts are no longer available. Not too impressed.

Any imput on a good Baitcast reel, seems im in the market to buy one now.

I need larger style for pike and muskie, im gunna pair it up with a 7'6" one pice Quantum Retroflex

  3. Thanks guys Ill try him out. I just got an email from quantum telling me to buy a new reel, they told me we dont make parts nor stock spares for this reel. Its only 3 years old i didnt think it would be that far outta date.

  4. Hey all

I some how through my clumsyness managed to drop the left side brake cover from my Quantum Iron IR120c baitcasting reel into lake Simcoe this past weekend :wallbash: .

I was pretty pissed off at myself but let it go thinking Ill be able to buy a replacement. After hours of searching I can not find one. This reel isnt even listed on quantums website in there parts page. Im lost and dont know what to do :dunno: .

Anyone here have any ideas? or know someone who works for Quantum that may be able to help?

    Thanks guys

  5. Agreed.....I only fish the Ontario side and to be safe I only fish downstreem from Queenston. The back drift right in front of the launch is nice but dont get caught sleeping twards the end of the drift, she will throw you right out into the main current which is filled with surging water and whirlpools. It gets scary in a smaller boat. Go Down stream half a mile and look for where the river narrows and you will find the drifts. The wider areas along the shore the water is pretty slack. Cruse up the shore line from the wider areas and youll drop right into the drift. Be carfull the shore line on the wider areas, they can get real shallow real fast. Good Luck

  6. Hey yall, Ill bee headding down to windsor for my sisters wedding on saturday so I figure Ill drag the boat down and giver a shot on the big DR friday. Anyone have any ideas what this rainy week will do to the water in that area? Im probably gonna drop the boat in in LaSalle and try arround the island. Any locals who could share some areas to start your imput would be greatly appreiciated.

Now I hear a vertical presintaion is key for these Wallies, would this technique be similar to boat drifting the Niagara river for trout? Currious to know if boat controll is similar if not the same in these two rivers.

Im gonna show up armed with a bunch of jig heads but what is the preferd bait here? Plastics, live, worms? Also are stingers needed here?

In advance thanks for your help and Ill let yas know how I made out.

  7. Love it - Ive got it on a lot of my rods, Spooled one up with 10 lb for drifting the niagra 3 years ago and I havent had to respool it yet, I run 20 lb on my carp setup, 50 lb on a flippin stick and a 8 foot baitcaster i use for casting for pike and muskie, 4 rods spooled with 30 lb for trollin dipsy divers in the big lakes, and 2 with 100 lb for trollin muskie.

I love the stuff and would not change anytime soon.
