I would if I could but the auger went into retirement yesterday drilling a hole. lol a friend is going to help me bring it back to life soon :tease:

Yes Rick I humbly admit I did invent photobucket was just trying to keep low key :tease:

  3. Yesterdays dinner was a l lovely Vegetable Venison/Goose sausage soup.

Taters, cabbage, carrot, turnip, onion, mushrooms, red and green pepper, stewed tomatoes, celery and about 3/4's of a cup of my leftover homemade beans to be served with fresh Calabrese bread. I'm betting tonight's dinner will be the same. ;)

  4. For what ever reasons DESTINY may have decided this poor soul's time had come and FATE crossed his path, it has happened and it is indeed very unfortunate.

When I posted about this sad event this morning it was with a plea to ALL to be safe out there, with the intent of "out there" being wherever one may be.

It is often so easy to have 20/20 hindsight and dissect the actions as well as question the abilities of others after the fact.

Let us NOT descend into what might be called by some as "bashing".

Let us instead offer our prayers and condolences to those who have lost a loved one WITHOUT recrimination for what may have preceded the event.

We should sharpen our wits to ensure our own safety and not our tongues to rebuke those who paid the ultimate price.

Mods - please delete or lock before we get lost here - the intention I had was merely to reinforce the thought of keeping safe foremost in our minds, we seem to be drifting far away from that goal.

    Michael

We have all joked from time to time of what some people will do out there but when someones life is lost, the only things imho that should shown are kind words and condolences for the family involved, they are going through a terrible time when something like that happens, the wife and kids may know someone who is on this board or any other for that matter, the last thing they need to hear or possibly read about is that their husband or father was whatever

Some things may be thought but not spoken at certain times, in life, thats just how i work

  5. Our thoughts and prayer are with you and family,

Let me know if you need any assistance with transportation etc around GTA

Thanks for your kind offer also stonefish I will find more out this weekend, I have an older sister in Woodbridge and a just retired brother in Mississauga so I think the basis are covered but if needed I will give u a shout for sure

  6. My family will pray for your brother Mr Blizzard. Be strong.

I lost my mom to cancer 18 months ago. I am still dealing with pain and grief.

If you have a chance to see him - do it.

I know you were posting about difficult financial situation in some of your posts, maybe members can donate some money for you to come.

If you will find this idea acceptable please let us know how we can help - maybe email transfer of $20 or so per every member willing to help.

I really appreciate it Costa but no we have a slush fund we can dip into, but the thought was really appreciated

My wife found out this week she may be instore for a promotion, will know in a few weeks re some restructuring within

Doctor has given me the thumbs up re last years back injury so cash flow should start happening soon

I am no one special in so far as what is happening, unfortunately we all experience this stuff

It makes u appreciate every day even more

    My condolences to u also

I hope will will all be posting here when we are 100,,,,,just might have to make the screen print a bit larger :tease:

  7. Thank you eveyone for your time

To show my respect to this board I have pmd each of you, as this is the only board I care to be on

Yes a couple of months ago they had hope but as the weeks have passed the news has become less each time but the doctors as great as they are do not know it all , as they are human too

But I had only heard the news 30 minutes before I posted

But life goes on as it should, it is important to make the most of every day, and to keep on keeping on, dwell on the positives and down play the negatives

Thank you all and have a safe happy weekend

  8. Man John that's bad. My empathy for you. The airlines do have bereavement rates if need be. I know a pal that came from BC to TO for 10% of the fare. I know we don't want to plan for the worse but it's reality. Contact them now for a pre approved rate.

thanks OI you r a man of compassion, , tonight was probably the last garbled conversation i will have with him on this eartht,,, i can only wonder what this will do to my 90 year old mom who is just a short distance away, even my wife and 20 nyear old son chatted with him tonight a mist his chemo

And he was still so polite saying I am sorry I could not here u etc

WHAT EVER sorry for bringing this onto u all

  9. My much older brother who served his whole life protecting people in Canada, who had his knee blown out by a gun shot while responding to a call at a reserve just outside parry sound many years ago, who also had his cruiser roof ripped open while chasing a bad guy around a curve just north of the nb tims just north of bradford york limits , this area used to house an old abandonded brick warehouse, my brothers car went thru it spun around and ended outside again, only for my brother to get out thank fully and grab the bad guys collar who was laying face down in a ditch after he too had been ejected, just to stop the bad guy from drowning, ya thats the way it was in the not so old not so political days

Anyways I was told at 70 he was given 6 months,,,,,,,tonight my mother at 90 his step mother told us he has 3 weeks, talked to him tonight, he heard us a bit thru chemo sad part is he was a heavy smoker most of his life.

For a variety of reasons,we have not seen each other for over 8 years, jobs, distance etc

but whatever if i cant get back if anyone can pray for him it would mean alot Brian knows i am telling the truth

probably the last time i will hear his voice, along with my son and wife

And he was still polite on the phone tonight even after all the chemo

Do something nice for someone you love this weekend even if it is just a phone call to say hi

    thx

    john

  10. Totally enjoyed participating in the tournaments over the years. Funny how thru the board we talk to many that we fished around but at the time didn't really know them first hand at the time

Yes absolutely fishing is a part of the day as well as the mingling with friends

You are both right but with the varying conditions regarding the ice it would be a tragedy if some people came up to innisfil from other areas not fully aware of the challenges regarding the the ice or lack of

It would be a black day for such a positive event if something tragic happened

Maybe people can brainstorm so as to come up with a plan that will ensure s great day but still keep people safe just because of the risks involved re the mild winter

  11. CJ Killarney is the Carribean of the north, totally breath taking with the colours of the water , the smooth water sculptered rocks smooth as a babies backside, the fish plant , and the beautiful short walk to the light house,, look for our names john and peg etched into the brown steel pole along with many others lol

They were less than 10 years ago thinking of redoing a large building for a bed and breakfast right on the waterfront, a nice park for rvs was just in behind the cop shop, give or take a block or two, hope this helps but it has been 8 years since we were there, check out the school bus, that serves the fish and chips oh boy a little pricey but good, bring groceries with u , much cheaper, watch the children be careful by the light house as it is one big drop

  12. GOOD ONE DAVE lmao

Old enough to drive but not old enough to think :whistling:

Looks exactly like what happened in Innisfil just a few years ago, all the dipsticks parked just off shore on the ice and some pez dispenser drilled a hole to check the ice thickness amoungst the cars,,,as a submarine commander once said,,,,,"DIVE, DIVE, DIVE" :ninja:
