No worries. I hope it was in stock. When I have ordered some clearance items in the past, they haven't always been able to find them. A few other stores have the Topo maps but at a higher price. Not sure why this store was selling it so cheaply. Enjoy the maps.

Depending on your GPS, you may be able to find Garmin Topo maps on clearance at Canadian Tire. The compatible models listed on the Canadian Tire web-site says, "Compatible with the following Garmin GPS models: E-Trex Legend, Map 76, Map 60C, GPS V, I Que, Rhino 120." The Misissauga Mavis/Dundas location apparently has one in stock for $10.
As suggested, the Ibycus maps are free. I'm not a bushwhacker so I find them perfectly useful for when I am on a lake.
My buddy has the Backroad Maps for his Garmin and he seems happy with them. They do have more info than the Ibycus maps.

I like their "beat any price by 10% policy", however any price has a number of restrictions. It has to be the exact same item, which means it has to be the same model number. Sometimes manufacturers make an item for a specific store and call it model 1000a while the exact same model is being sold elsewhere as model 1000b. Best Buy may not price match in that case. Best Buy also won't price match items on Amazon that are being sold by third party sellers (i.e. not being fulfilled by Amazon). The item also needs to be in stock at the other retailer for Best Buy to match the price.
If you are willing to spend some time, it always pays to shop around.

Also due in large part to the low water, ice fishing will be different this year at Island Lake in Orangeville. No heated hut rentals and the derby will be 3 days rather than the month of February.

Why is having to provide an email and a name a scam? The changes implemented by Harper didn't even allow a chance to provide comments.
If you go to the About section you can upload a document directly, although to see the workbooks you do need to register.

Craig's picture of the Brook Trout in the Humber spurred me to take a trip down last week to photograph the Chinooks and whatever else might be around. It has been a few years since I last went and I always enjoy a few hours down there to see the fish and the crowds. As it turns out, I also lucked out and managed to get a photo of an Atlantic Salmon jumping at one of the weirs.
I know this will probably turn into a debate about the program but I thought it was a post-worthy picture regardless.

Just got back from the Mississauga store. Discounts are as previously mentioned. Still lots of stuff but Canada Goose is sold out and survival suits were only XXL or larger. They are giving away the 2016 catalogue and are selling LeBaron t-shirts for those who want to hold on to some history. The guy at the check-out had no idea how long the sale will last or if discounts will increase over time.
LeBaron has been my go to store for almost 30 years. I remember going to the Sportsman show years ago and getting a catalogue or having it arrive in the mail. I also remember the store on Yonge Street and echo the comments about bad customer service at both GTA locations. Prices couldn't be beat though.

I have an older GoPro and am very happy with the video quality. Not as good in low light but I think the newer ones have improved.

I have the RAM X-Grip with a suction mount for my car windshield. Works great and would buy another in a hearbeat. I like the modular ability of the RAM mounts and use them for attaching GPS/GoPro/camera to my canoe and extension pole.

As mentioned, Radioworld sells a lot of RAM stuff but I have also bought on-line from Amazon and GPS City.

Hi all:
Not surprisingly, the "waterproof" flashlights in my 2 boat safety kits got wet and no longer work. The kits are only out on the water once or twice a year so I am not looking to spend much on a replacement (i.e. Fenix is not an option). I found this one at Walmart (http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/energizer-weatheready-waterproof-led-flashlight/6000142540745) but I'm certainly open to other ideas. Any suggestions?

I heard from MNRF that Bronte Creek will be lampricided by staff from the Sea Lamprey Control Centre (Fisheries and Oceans Canada) on Sunday. I'm not sure exactly when (e.g. early or late Sunday) or where the treatment will be taking place but thought it would be of interest to those heading out this weekend.

Good information already provided so I don't have too much to add. I have a Nikon D5300 but I'm sure a similar Canon would be comparable. My decision to go with a Nikon over Canon was more feel than photo quality. At the time, mirrorless cameras didn't exist so I don't know too much about them. DSLRs are very versatile but do come with additional bulk and cost of lenses. And with a DSLR, there are filters, tripods and other things to spend money on. There is no one camera fits all solution so I also have a Nikon mega-zoom point and shoot for those far away birds and a GoPro for underwater video. I like them all for varying reasons and use each one for the jobs they do best. I rely on the DSLR more than the other cameras since it gives me a lot more flexibility when shooting (higher ISO, longer exposure, manual focus, etc.). I echo the idea that glass is for life while bodies are disposable. I don't like a camera that doesn't have a viewfinder of some sort since I find the screens aren't very good on bright days.

That is a huge fish for sure but I'm not sure how official this record is. Only a picture needs to be submitted. As well, take a look at the 8.7lb largemouth picture on the web-site. Not sure that is a very accurate measurement.

Not sure of your needs but I have a refurbished HP desktop, Dell laptop and Ipad at home. I like and dislike them all for different reasons.
Laptop
Had a few problems with the battery and fan. Backlit keyboard is nice, as is Bluetooth for a mouse so that you don't use up a USB port for a wireless transmitter.Portable but not as portable as a tablet.
Desktop
Old school but comfortable. I like the feel of a real keyboard.
Ipad
Portable, good battery life and many apps. Don't like using the touch screen for typing too much but you can get a Bluetooth keyboard if all you are doing is answering emails. Storage can be expanded (http://www.macworld.com/article/2904073/4-handy-options-for-adding-storage-to-your-iphone-or-ipad.html). I have a similar thing to the Sandisk option (Sandisk Media Drive) and it works well. Great for bringing movies along on a trip. They do most things that a PC does but can be issues with copying stuff from a USB or memory card (maybe impossible) and cutting and pasting text is functional but a pain.
Other tablets allow you to expand the memory.

"The only exception to the end of IE versions 8 through 10 will be Windows Vista, which will continue to get support for Internet Explorer 9. IE9 was the last version of the browser built for the OS. But that support won’t run for much longer. Microsoft will end support for Vista in April 2017, which means the OS will cease receiving security updates all together—just like Windows 8 and XP."
I am using Windows 10 and generally like it.

I'm not a hunter so please excuse my ignorance.
Are dogs not allowed to run deer in some WMUs? Aren't they also used to tree bears? If so, I'm not clear on the difference between using a dog and drone. I think it could be argued that a dog is simply an animal drone??

I didn't see this posted yet and I know this is a fishing page but I thought people would be interested in this proposal to amend two regulations to extend and expand the Black Bear Pilot Project in parts of northern and central Ontario for an additional five years and to regulate the baiting of black bears.
Comments are welcome until November 30, 2015.
