  1. great idea!! I think there will be a shortage of Aluminum Pipe, Chain bolts, Chain Swivels, & Trailer quick connects in the near future. :)

I especially like the sketch pad with the plans on it in the first pic.....was it crayola crayons or a sharpie???? hahahaha

  2. any fishfinder will work as long as you can mount the transducer so it get's down the hole and stays in the proper position. Granted, some finders are better then others but they will all do the trick. For years I used a Cuda 168 black and white finder....it's about the cheapest one you can buy at around $100. I've had a Lowrance x67c ice machine for 3 yrs and it is an awesome ice fishing finder. I was lucky enough to get mine on sale at the toronto sportsman show for $289.00.

Cruise the fishing boards/forums buy and sell areas, kijiji, and even eBay......you might find a good deal.

  3. I'll be out off of gilford tomorrow morning bright and early. Hopefully I have the same luck as sunday and monday....my buddy and I caught well over 300 in the 2 days....kept approx. 60 for a nice fry. Biggest one of the day was 13". It was lots of fun "sight-fishing".

  4. Personally, I'd look into getting a Flip-over style hut simply due to the easy of set-up and take-down....especially in the windy conditions. Plus, you can store most of your gear inside the attached sled. Yes, they may be more pricey...but well worth it IMHO.

    My 2cents.

  5. In my permanent hut I once had I built a wood stove using an old 20lb propane tank. I flipped it upside down(valve side down), cut a window in the side, attached some hinges, cut a hole in the top and attached some venting to the top of it. I then installed a grill to the inside so i could place chunks of those "java logs" on it. It worked amazing. My hut was 4X6 and it heated it up perfectly. I did have pics but can't find them.

  6. Well, I mainly fish Lake Simcoe in the winter for lakers and whities and I spool my reels with 8lb power pro (red) and tie on a 6 or 8lb flouro leader. Obviously you'd use a lighter line for perch.

    my 2 cents.
