Hi ,
Headin up to Simcoe on Wed. Ice fished once lasrt year out of Beaverton with a freinds ATV.Just wondering where a good place to walk out from might be.Coming up from the south.I've looked at hydro maps and followed the threads. Is it worth my while to leave from the public parking @ Willow Beach? Thanks

they have the legal right to do it
so I will not judge....
as long as they do it within the law
and who polices the law with 1st natioms? Im guessing themselves

ya...please post a report .My buddy and I are very curious. We may have just been on the wrong part of the lake.
-
a freind of mine has a cottage on Sparrow near Brigadoon. We fished for 7-8 hours one sunny Feb. day last winter from Brigadoon all the way to the mouth where the Kahse River empties into the lake and back..Nothing,note even a hit.We drilled more holes than I can remember and fished different depths. If they are there we couldn't find them but good luck and be very careful of the Trent canal flow as was already stated.Don't know what the ice would be like on the Port Stanton side of the lake,we were on the opposite shore.

Couldn't agree more, Rob has treated us extremely well every time we've been up there.
How was the bite phiphntek?

ON THE ICE

I use a fishin buddy winter and summer. Not as fancy or precise as a flasher but it does mark fish both horizontally and vertically.I've been happy with it and it's reasonably priced.
-
cool vid Terry.....without guys like you with their high tech "toys", guys like me would never see what goes on down there.I think I saw a couple of those perch laughing at ME.Im gonna get em now though...............

Hey Stern,
I use a Humminbird "Fishin Buddy".It is a portable unit that will clamp to the gunnels of a canoe (my first use), or a dock.It clamps with an oversize "C" clamp.I use it on the ice by lying the c clamp on the ice and sliding the unit through its retaining collar and into the hole. It's certainly not as accurate or responsive as a Vex or Humminbird Ice flasher, but it does indicate when fish are in the area.Certainly low tech but I find it helpful.
another good day on Simcoe
