  1. Just take a flashlight out tonight and check around the grass in your yard or a nearby park. The worms come right out onto the ground. The light and your footsteps will spook them back into their holes so move quickly. Good luck!
  2. Thanks everyone. I don't take keeping fish lightly and wanted to be sure it wasn't going to be a waste.
  3. Recognizing that the last roe-related post didn't seem very welcomed, I do have a question that I think is more legitimate and may be better received. How long can you generally get roe from a fish before the spawning season? I don't normally keep fish so I've never inadvertently found out. I have always gotten my roe right in the middle of the season, but I'm going to be fishing steelhead soon and I was wondering how long I'd be stuck with flies and pink worms
  4. The fish is going to die anyway, so he would be just as well to have kept her and taken all of the eggs... he basically killed the fish for 1/4 of her eggs, so overall he will probably kill 4 times the number of fish that anyone else would for the same number of eggs. ...I'm not even going to start on the fact that he is wasting the salmon eggs if he is going to use them for steelhead....you can get 'em with salmon roe, but there are lots of better things he can be using.
  5. There is something seriously wrong with a system where the people are punished are those who actually save their money and live within their means... creating $700 billion = inflation = decrease in the value of your savings... I'm having second thoughts about spending my savings on a new boat
  6. Anyone ever fish the mouth of Bowmanville creek for steelhead or salmon? If so, where? It looks kind of shallow to me. I know there is a decent run in the creek but not sure what it's like right out in the front. I've seen enough ugly salmon this year and want to get a few 'bows I normally fish the Ganny but it is a zoo right now. Can't get a decent drift with those crowds. It will be especially bad the next few weeks when they close it North of the CN bridge. Replies with specifics would be great....I haven't fished the Bowmanville creek much aside from a few spots further up the river.
