I sure will, and yes it was a steel of a deal LOL. He has more money than most people will ever see. He just wanted to see it go to a good home. We've actually become good friends.

Yukon and Alaska. Three years ago.

It has been getting that way but still well worth the trip. Cruise is the way to go from Vancouver. There are a couple different ones. One goes straight up and back and another one detours around all the Islands etc. up the coast. Don't forget your rain gear and umbrella, depending on where you are it does rain a lot. You'll be glad you went. It truly is the last frontier. -
Sunset, mule deer, trail cam pics.

Thanks Lew, I moved the cameras to a couple other promising spots, so if I can leave them alone long enough I should have quite a few more. -
Hung a couple trail cams an hour S.E of town five days ago. A nice sun set with a chinook arch. It's a little dark to see the Rockies except for three peaks and if you look close a big mule deer doe in the lower left. Also a mule deer doe and fawn.

It isn't bad at all on gas, no worse than my last Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9. Gas is the least of my concern as aside from heading out to my trail cams once a month I don't drive around much. Ya wanna play ya gotta pay right? LOL. I couldn't be happier with this thing in all aspects, and yes it is ohhh so comfortable, One could easily fall asleep in this thing. I do appreciate your insight on oil changes etc. and I am a firm believer in that (preventive medicine I call it) That's why my vehicles last so long. For several years I have used nothing but Royal Purple Synthetic and they have a top of the line engine flush. Bough my first car before I was old enough to get my drivers license, 55 years ago. A gorgeous 66 Chrysler Windsor. Wish I still had it.

I hope you do to Rizzo. It took me e few months for this one to come along but it was well worth the wait.

He's a disgrace to the sport we all love and enjoy so much.

That is who I was thinking of, man, can't believe I screwed up that bad. I think the old bugger should be keeping his feet on the ground.
-
HAHAHA, nope, not at all Lew, I promise to leave it out west here. I have a very good relationship with Environment Canada and all the local weather forecasters. If worse comes to worse I'll move back.

Here's what greeted me when I went outside this morning. Kinda pretty with the frost on the trees. Foggy and -26 with the wind chil.
-
Hey Lew, would you have room for a boarder? LOL.
-
Here's one for ya's, who remembers this guy? and he was likely the first to be on TV with hunting and fishing shows- Red Fisher, Scuttlebut lodge. I guided him a few times for Wild Turkey, Ring Neck Pheasant, Chukar and White Tail. It was a blast. He had quite a sense of humor.
-
Yes I agree those were the days. When I wasn't home to watch them I'd record them on the old VCR. Still have some tapes but no VCR LOL. Not that I didn't enjoy his shows but I'd forgotten about Hank, he also had a hunting show as well.

I hear ya Spiel. Same here.
-
You hit the nail right on the head Spiel. That's more along the lines that I wanted to post but wasn't sure how far I could go and get away with it. That poor old lab I referred to was scared half to death laying up on top of that Kayak. I only guided him once for a show and after that he thought he knew more than I did and then had the nerve to ask me again and I told him no, with a few other choice words added in that I can't mention here.

I should have cleaned the interior before I took the pictures. It isn't bad but there's obviously room for improvement. The garbage in the parking lot isn't from me. I did pick it up though but should have done it before I took the pictures, too late smart. It would certainly handle it Glen. I will be putting a boat behind it but not a very big one as I am almost broke now after buying this LOL, no regrets.
-
HaHa, it's been about the right temperature for them.

I used to fish with Bob many moons ago and lived just a couple miles from Darryl.
-
I used to enjoy Babe and his wife. He went on to start a hunting show which I also found enjoyable. If I am not mistaken some time recently he fell out of a tree while trying to place his tree stand, spent some time in the hospital, almost didn't make it.
-
I always enjoyed Bill Dance. Two shows come to mind. One where he broke the tip off his rod in the tailgate and another where he was snagged in a tree and wound up going overboard. As my Dad used to preach, be careful as there are more fishing rods broke in trunk lids and car doors than there are on fish. It's a fact, even after all that I still broke one of mine in the trunk lid LOL. I wouldn't watch Italo if you paid me. I guided him and Henry in the 70s, as far as I am concerned aside from being boring he brings nothing to the show that most of us don't already know. The last time I tried to watch it he had his geriatric black lab nervously trying to keep his balance and stay atop his kayak. I hazard to guess what the poor old guy went through to get him on top of the kayak just to make him self look like a big shot. Who in their right mind does that.

A few months ago I took my AWD Ford Fusion (I never expected to be driving a car again especially with the time I spend in the foot hills of the Rockies year round but the prices of trucks, SUVS and even vans went through the roof and I could only afford a car) to the shop to rotate the tires, thinking I was doing the right thing so they would last longer as they were getting down in tread. Three weeks later the rear diff was making a racket when I turned corners. Took it to a reputable shop and turns out one or more tires were shorter or taller in height than the rest. $6500: 00 repair bill. I told them to keep it. I actually done myself a favor and I don't mean to bore you guys with this but I had to share it with someone. Even though I'm getting a little long in the tooth I'm like a little kid on Christmas eve when it comes to new toys LOL, as a few months later I found the vehicle, an older one, but still the SUV of my dreams, one owner, which I never expected to ever own. May sound stupid but for a while I couldn't keep my eyes off it or my butt out of it. I have had my share of luxurious SUVs over the years but nothing like this. Rides and drives an handles like it was brand new. No road noise what so ever. 230.000 KM, brand new agressive all seasons on it, new brakes all around and new battery and also four brand new, never been on the vehicle studded snow tires on fancy aluminum mags. Tow rating of 9200lbs where as my Fusion was 850lbs and 380hp. After a week of dickering and dealing I got him down to $7000 from the $8500 he was originally asking for it. It's the nicest thing I have ever owned.

I'm a little late posting some of this. Last Thursday afternoon started snowing and stopped Saturday afternoon and here's the result. Just a few days before that Calgary was Canadas hot spot, 17c. A picture taken from my cell phone shortly after five this morning, Environment Canada predicting 16c by Tuesday. I hope they are right but I will believe it when I see it. And it's coming down pretty heavy right now and has been since early this morning.

Just a few pics of my two favorite places on the planet. The last Frontier, where I should be living.

I can certainly relate. I sure don't miss the humidity in Ontario. Lying in bed with nothing on and wide awake at two in the morning sweating profusely. We get the heat out hear but over the past twenty years or so, I and many others have noticed an incline in the humidity but no where's near as bad as Ontario. Last summer at the beginning of our record hot spell our air conditioner quit working, $7000 for a new one, that aint going to happen on our old age pensions. My wife and I years ago thought of moving to the Yukon, some where's south of White Horse. More often than not the weather up there, being so close to the ocean is nicer than here in Calgary. I would still love to, but I meant a native (a kinda urbanized Eskimo actually if you will) about twenty five years ago who had his own bush pilot business with six planes He said unless you have some money set aside, as work is scarce, it's very difficult to afford to live there. Just a jug of milk back then was $11:00. I, years ago wanted to move to Alaska. I had a subscription to magazine all about Alaska. Land of the midnight sun. I am very much into gardening and there where pictures of cauliflowers the size of a bushel basket. But the Yukon is very much the same. Incredible hunting and fishing.
