Sorry, excuse my noobishness but what does the term "loogan" mean? Is it someone who doesn't know how to creek/river fish properly?

Just stepping out the door meself! Heading up to Balsam for some live action shore fishing! BOOM! pretty much going for anything that loves 3 - 5' minnows! LOL Walleye?, bass?, Pike? Who knows!

So, were heading out this Sat for some shore fishing but we can't decide if we should hit Gores Landing pier on Rice Lake or head to BoQ and find someplace to shore fish there (sucks not having a boat ) In the last few weeks we've tried Balsam Lake near Kirkfield but have had no luck with walleye from the shore...getting kind of frustrated but thems be the breaks right? If anyone has any insight as to picking Gores Landing or BoQ might be better shore fishing for walleye it would be greatly appreciated, or any areas for actual shore fishing on the BoQ for that matter, feel free to send me a PM. Well, that doesn't seem like much of a help lol, but I can see where you're coming from. I'm originally from the area (Finch, Ont) but I have been gone from the fishing scene for 13+ years in that area. Would anyone recommend the Power Dam area near Cornwall, I think there's a trout pond somewhere on Power Dam dr....what about the Long Sault causeway... Yeah, that sounds like it may be the best way to get info, just speak with the local bait shop guys..

Hey Guys, My fiance and I are heading up that way on the 9th of Sept weekend and I was wondering if anyone might know of any areas that are decent for walleye/pike from shore. We'll be using minnows/worms as well. Any info would be great as we don't get out that much to fish. Thanks in advance. cg
