  1. I feel your frustration Dara. Got a 8inch manual ice auger there once. Drilled 3 holes with it and didn't like it. I had lost the receipt but I still had the box it came in with all the packaging and there store address on a label right on the box. Drove an hour to get to the store. Told them my story and showed them the packaging and everything. "Sorry sir no receipt" was all they would do for me. Sold the auger on here for $50...it was an $100 plus strikemaster laser auger....and was done with it and them. Haven't been in the store since.

Found my receipt months latter. It had fallen behind my bedroom dresser :wallbash:

unfortunately there are people who would without receipt

1 buy stuff on sale and then try to return products at full price

2 buy something used and then try to return it

3 steal things then try and return

it seems we pay the price for others dishonesty but i cannot blame the store

they have a return policy in writing for a reason when you buy something from any store you are agreeing to that policy

if you misplace the receipt its not the stores fault

and to the OP again the return policy is in writing at all the stores its not the fault of the store you didn't test the motor within

the stated time i know it sucks i would be pissed to but businesses have to protect themselves from the few dishonest people

    that cost them money

  2. and I have seen people speeding and I have seen people walking down the street keying cars and I have seen people casting from shore who didnt bother to check if there was somebody behind them and catch someone on the face and none of that changed the fact that the owners or people in the marina have no right to harass you while you are legally fishing

if you read the last three lines of my post you would see i agree with you

but we also need to understand the other side and try to work together rather than fighting

  3. please read all i write before you come down on me

i was in a marina last year and watched a couple of guys in a tinny

    fishing

their casting was as bad as it gets they hit no less than half a dozen boats while i was there

now if i owned one of those boats i would not be a happy camper

now sure the lures dont really hurt the boat but they can scratch

so in a way i understand the boaters feelings

all it takes is one bad apple to set off the marinas

now let me say i dont think its right for them to keep us out of the marinas

i love to fish the docks and many times thats the only place i can catch anything

i think there needs to be some middle ground somewhere somehow

  4. yes its a mobility scooter i can walk just not for very long it gets very painful

and as far as paddling goes i usually dont go too far

and next month i am adding a trolling motor

Good luck Rob. My paddling days are over now. Great to see a fellow retiree still can, especially if that is a special chair in your photo.

when you click on a video you can click the posters name and that takes you to their channel

  6. big sale at gagnons from today till the tenth

was a zoo today half hour in line to check out and pay lol

but got a gloomis rod for less than half price and broke down and bought a abu rocket no tax on the reel

and a 30 dollar mail in rebate

  7. The local shop brought in the Daiwa Lexa 300 for that purpose. It has a higher speed than most.

The toro winch would more Han likely do it though if you can get passed the slower gear ratio

well thank you for the info the daiwa looks like it fits the bill i never considered daiwa

  8. Rod sounds like it should handle the smaller spectrum of musky lures which is fine... Especially from a kayak...

As far as a reel keep in mind if you use a reel that doesn't have sufficient drag you'll be rod pumping fish in instead of cranking them in... Or the lighter drag will extend the fight which is bad news for musky when the water is warm... Just something to consider...

my premier reel is 20lb drag

not sure what min. drag would be for musky
