  1. Are you buying it because she asked for a warm coat, or specifically a Canada Goose coat? The Canada Goose coats have been very fashion trendy for the past couple of years, so if it's for fashion reasons make sure you buy the actual brand =) I see all these kids wearing them in downtown Toronto and I just think how hot they must be, lol. I'd sweat my Ferrero Roches off just walking down the street in one.

  2. Technically you cannot have a valid outdoors card AND a new 3 year license. The card expires in three years as well now. So, even if you have 1 year left on your card, you will need to buy a new card to go with your 3-year license. I would just buy a new card and print the temporary e-card. Assuming the site allows that at all. It's not very obvious what's going on with that website IMO.

Assuming I understand what you're saying anyway, lol.

  3. OK, renewed my license today. I did it online. It never ceases to amaze me at how badly the government implements their websites. Who makes these decisions?

I've been using computers since the advent of the dial-up modem. However, I still have trouble navigating these bloated and illogical government websites. Every so-called "improvement" is usually 10 steps backwards as well. The license renewal process falls into that category IMO.

    Anyway, /rant off...

  4. Getting good information on mattresses is impossible. Every store has their own line so you can't even compare within the same manufacturer. The lines change constantly as well.

My understanding is that the pillow tops are prone to getting "sunk in" over time. I didn't buy one for that reason. Is yours a pillow top?

  5. You sure it's on November 26th? I emailed them recently and the response said December.

    Thank you for your email.

2013 renewal options will not be available until December. You are just

a few weeks to early to do your 2013 renewal. Starting in December you

will be able to renew your Outdoors Card and 3-year licences without

further difficulty. Ontario residents can renew using one of three

    methods:

    1) Online at http://ontario.ca/outdoorscard

    2) Through our renewal phone line at 1-800-288-1155.

    3) At a local issuer. A list of issuer locations is available on our

    website at http://ontario.ca/wz11

Please be advised that 1-year licences for 2013 will not be available

until the end of December. If you are interested in a 1-year licence you

will need to wait until late December to make your purchase.

  6. Mike probably mentioned Parks Fly In, Anjigaming or Abbey (can do some canoeing from Abbey into a few other lakes), Mike would know the most about Parks

here's one you likely haven't found, check out the chutes outpost, their website sucks and it's hard to find doing a search, really cool spot though, there is some small brookie lakes around that camp too

if you did the drive to Nakina (it's worth it I think), check out this place

private lake, but can boat out to a huge lake (other camps on the big lake, Kag), a private portage lake that's a good size, and access to pike, walleye, lakers and brookies, it's a rocky, deep, oligotrophic lake too (not a shallow dish pan)

The Chutes always looked like an awesome place to me. I tried to find information about it a couple years ago, but wasn't much on the net. Do you know if it's still in operation?

This is the report I read on it that piqued my interest.

  7. They also changed some of the designs, but some were also changed back. For example, the Hot'N'Tot had a metal lip which people liked because it banged on the rocks and was also bendable. The metal lip was changed to a plastic lip of different shape and size. With the current "original" Hot'n'Tots I am not sure if the lip is metal or plastic [it's painted and it seems like metal, but I haven't actually tried to bend one]. The shape and thickness is also now the same as the older model.

Dave Storm started his own line at some point called Kaboom Lures and continued some of the original storm models. I am not sure if he's still in business or not.

Never seen those Brad's lures before. Nice find, the design and paint jobs are exactly like Storms. Might have to order some.

  8. I found a great video on youtube I will try and track it down. This fella pre-ties all his snells but for the actual bead section he rigs them on a short 30# lbs test loop and puts them on a safety pin kind of like the slip bobber stops.

So if you want certian colour beads on your harness, you take end of the harness line pass it through the bead loop, hold both ends and pull. The beads come off the loop onto your snell perfectly, clevis, blade everything. It's a great idea. I will be using this idea this winter. You could tie hundreds of diffent patterns and they would store way easier.

Good idea. Just tried it and it works like a charm.
