  1. Hey All, My son (who is 8) and I have planned to come up to Nippising in the first week of June to try our hands at Walleye fishing. We are not completely inexperienced but have never been to Nipissing before or actively pursued Walleye in any water we have fished. May question for those of you who have fished this time of year at Nipissing is: What should we bring for lures/bait? As well, how would you use these choices? If one does not work what would you move to next? We will be staying at Cozy Cove Cottages which I beleive is at the west edge of Callander Bay. Any and all help on how to make our trip successful is appreciated! Thanks, Chris
  2. Whoa! I'll try and get my postings up so you all can trust me! Anyway, some crucial info I left out. $470 is for a 4 bedroom cabin and 18 ft cedar strip with a 15hp for 3 days. That is the total cost. It is a good deal based on everything else I saw. I was planning on taking my 8 yr old son and 11 yr old nephew up. I could not book another time because tehy were full. Chris
  3. Hey All, A while back I got a great recommendation from a board member on where to stay for a trip to Nipissing. Namark Cottages. Unfortetunately, I have had to cancel my trip due to an unforseen work obligation. While I have been able to rebook with another operator (cosy cove cottages) I stand to lose my deposit if someone else doesn't take my dates. I booked a 4 person cottage (called the Mark Cottage) for June 9-12. Including boat and motor for $470. This is one of the best deals I found around and the days are right in the middle of the best walley fishing on the lake. Can someone take my place? Let me know if you can take this off my hands. The number is 12396486256 and ask for Liz or terry Hyatt. If they are not at that number try 17057523125. Thanks guys. Hope some one can take the dates! Chris
  4. Are you high or something?
  5. Hi All, I am looking for some help with picking a lodge up on lake Nipissing. I have done some searching on my own but am not sure what to make of it. I will tell you a few things and hopefully someone can give me some tips. The group going will be myself, my 8 year old sone, and my nephew who is 11. We will likely spend a lot of time on the water but won"t really travel long distances inthe boat as I am not an experienced boater. I will be renting a boat and motor from whatever lodge we stay at. We will fish mainly for Pike, Walleye, and would like to try for a musky just because I have never hooked one. That being said we might also go for some bass as well. We like the fish frys so the more pickrel the better! I was thinking of going the first week in June next year for 3 nights. I can't break the bank on the lodge so I am looking for the best deal and helpfull staff who will point us in the right spots for the fish we are seeking. A few questions: What will the weather be like up there at that time of year? Need warm clothes? Bugs? Any lure suggestions or is live bait a better choice? Which is better Callander or West Nipissing? Thanks for all your help in advance! Chris
